Language and culture have always been an important part of International Chinese Language Education.The connotation and cultural factors contained in language reflect the values,customs and habits of a country or a nation formed in the long-term social life.Therefore,successful language communication cannot be separated from the cultural accumulation and needs to be based on the correct understanding of language and culture.As a kind of life culture,folk culture is the most frequently involved content in people’s daily communication.It is the key factor that influences Chinese learner to use Chinese in cross-cultural communication.In the teaching of folk culture in International Chinese Language Education,the teaching methods of teachers and the quality of textbooks jointly affect the learning effect of students.Teaching material,in particular,is an important tool and basis for teaching,and one of the indispensable elements in the teaching process.Scientific folk culture teaching material has an important value and role in carrying out teaching activities and improving teaching effect.This paper discusses the definition,classification and cultural attributes of folk customs through literature search and data analysis,and further discusses the definition and function of folk culture.On the basis of folklore and cultural linguistics,starting from the practice of International Chinese Language Education and culture teaching,this paper discusses the connection between folk culture and International Chinese Language Education,demonstrates the application value of folk culture teaching materials from the perspective of the relationship between teaching and teaching materials,and takes the textbook Chinese Folk Culture written by Wang Yanjun as the research object and takes The Framework of Reference for Chinese Culture and Societyin International Chinese Language for research reference.By means of statistics and induction,this paper comprehensively and systematically studies five aspects: the style of the textbook,the selected content of folk culture,vocabulary annotation,language knowledge and exercise setting.In view of the problems existing in the textbook,the author puts forward some writing strategies,such as optimizing annotation method to reduce the difficulty of the textbook,adding practical activities,using science and technology to make the textbook more interesting,adding situational simulation and case analysis to test students’ intercultural communicative competence.
