| Since China put forward the publishing "going out" strategy in 2003,the output of copyright has increased steadily, and the international influence of book products has also increased. The proposal of the "the Belt and Road" initiative has opened up a new perspective for China’s publishing "going global".As the only major project of China’s press and publication industry that has entered the national "the Belt and Road" initiative, the "Silk Road scholarly project" has made remarkable achievements after years of development. In particular, the implementation of its sub project key translation funding project has provided a new channel and direction for China’s books to "go global".As an important part of the publishing industry, academic publishing records human academic achievements and makes it possible for academic sharing.Based on the list of projects approved by the "Silk Road scholarly project" from 2015 to 2021,this study screened and summarized the academic books supported by the project, and analyzed the number, language, discipline, publishing institution, supported region and other aspects of the academic books supported by the project by using the methods of literature analysis, data analysis and case analysis,It also summarizes the characteristics formed in the publishing process, and finds that the academic books funded in the key translation funding project of the "Silk Road scholarly project" show five characteristics as a whole: more emphasis on book topics and contact with Silk Road countries, the output of series has formed a scale effect, the publishing of the same book in multiple languages has formed a joint force,"academic + theme publishing" promotes people’s hearts and minds, and "going global" experienced publishers lead the development.Through further research,it is found that the academic books supported by the project have some problems, such as some languages have not been covered, individual disciplines have not been funded, the academic potential of local publishers has not been deeply tapped, and there are still some regions in the country that have not been funded. This study provides some suggestions for the above problems, which are mainly divided into two parts: the macro planning level of the project and the specific practice level of the publishing house.Among them, the macro planning of the project can be improved from three aspects:actively inclining to small languages, striving to achieve full coverage of languages along the line, adjusting the layout of funded disciplines, enriching the types of funded academic books, exploring assistance and cooperation mechanisms, and attracting more local publishers to join; The specific practical level of publishing institutions can be improved by digging their own academic resources, planning topics for countries along the line, developing a variety of book types, meeting the reading needs of audiences along the line, attracting foreign translators, paying attention to the cultivation of professional translation talents, giving full play to regional advantages, and comprehensively developing local publishing potential. It is hoped that it can contribute to the better implementation of the project, enhance China’s national and cultural self-confidence,and realize the transformation from "going out" to "going in" in China’s publishing industry. |
