A Practice Report On The Chinese Translation Of Practical AI For Cybersecurity(Chapter 1)

In the contemporary era,the process of informatization in China is accelerating.While the IT industry is moving towards globalization with rapid innovation and development,a slew of cybersecurity issues are also put forward.As a result,it is necessary to absorb the advanced foreign experience and technology in cybersecurity management for the development of a solid all-around protection system of network information on the basis of novel AI technology to ensure continuously the national cybersecurity.To better comprehend AI and cybersecurity and enhance the security of contemporary networks,the first chapter of Practical AI for Cybersecurity is selected as the source text of the practice report.Based on Peter Newmark’s Communicative translation theory,by using the case analysis methods,the translator systematically sorts out and analyzes the lexical,syntactical,and textual content of the source text,and employs reasonable translation techniques to revise and improve translation.At the lexical level,the translator pursues the precision and objectivity of the version based on amplifications,omissions,and conversions.At the syntactical level,the translator optimizes the sentence structures of the target text by applying the translation techniques,such as divisions,reconstructions,exchanges of voices and flexible diversions.Simultaneously,the translation methods of passive voice in English into active voice in Chinese are used to enhance the style of sci-tech texts and to make up for the deficiencies in language expressions for real communicative intentions.At the textual level,the translator strengthens the logic of the version,highlights the coherence and cohesion,and improves its fluency by making appropriate modifications on the basis of the language style of the source text.In the end,the translator reviews and summarizes the translation practice,and explains the ideas and techniques for the solutions to different problems.It is hoped that this translation will provide useful references for the translators in the related fields,which is of great significance theoretically and practically.That the translator takes cybersecurity and AI as the translation task proves that the thesis topic of the translation practice is novel,which is the innovative point of this translation practice.
