As a result of the epidemic,the development of international Chinese language education has been challenged as never before,and many Chinese and foreign universities,Confucius Institutes,Confucius Classrooms,and training institutions have shifted their teaching positions to online.The Great Wall Chinese Training Institute in Vietnam,where I work,has also introduced a new form of teaching in the context of this era,online teaching.The institution relies on the ZOOM teaching platform and uses the Great Wall Chinese series of teaching materials,with Chinese university graduate students as teachers and Vietnamese supervisors.In order to overcome this problem,the author has conducted a study on the design of an online oral Chinese class for Vietnamese adult learners.The thesis is divided into five parts:The part I,Introduction.Introduces the reason for choosing the topic,the object of the study,the research method,the purpose and significance of the study,and the current status of the study.The part II,theories related to online teaching and learning.I introduce the theories related to online teaching and learning,such as communication theory,distance education theory and educational learning theory.The part III.,an investigation into the learning strategies of Vietnamese adult learners of spoken Chinese at the elementary level.The purpose of this chapter is to understand the learning strategies of Vietnamese adult learners,based on the Oxford Language Learning Scale,in order to prepare for the online speaking instruction for Vietnamese adult learners.The study found that Vietnamese adult learners use socio-emotional and compensatory strategies more often when learning Chinese.The part IV,Instructional design of an online elementary speaking class for Vietnamese adult learners.This chapter selects appropriate teaching materials,develops online teaching objectives and teaching strategies based on theories related to online teaching and learning strategies of Vietnamese adult learners,and uses ZOOM,which is more interactive,as the teaching platform.Finally,it takes the vocabulary,grammar and parts of speech in Her Boyfriend is Handsome as an example,and combines the theories related to online teaching and learning strategies of Vietnamese adult learners to develop the teaching design.The part V,reflections and suggestions on teaching and learning based on online elementary speaking classes for Vietnamese adult learners.It is hoped that this study will inspire all teachers who conduct online teaching and promote the development of the online international Chinese teaching business.
