Illustration Creation And Design Practice On Flora Of Donglu

Donglu Garden is the core area of Donglu Campus of Yunnan University.It is rich in plant resources and is known as the Botanical Garden located in the center of Kunming.Since the establishment of Yunnan University,the plants in Donglu Garden have a history of more than 100 years.In the 1930 s,qu Zhongxiang,Tang Peisong and Zhu Yancheng,professors of the department of biology of Yunda,selected plants with regional and representative yunnan in the Donglu garden,planted and cultivated for scientific research and campus beautification,thus creating yunda with popular science value,ecological value and cultural value of the campus landscape."Flora of Donglu" is a collection of illustration and design works created based on the plants in Donglu Garden of Yunnan University.In view of the deficiency of Yunnan University in campus plant propaganda and popular science,and the public’s lack of attention to scientific illustration,the author carried out research by using literature research method,field investigation method and case analysis method to carry out the research,combined with the aesthetic needs of modern people,and integrated plant popular science into campus life in an artistic way.First of all,the author made a long-term field investigation in Donglu Garden,selected plant varieties with high common degree,popularity and ecological value as the main objects of illustration,and collected and sorted out the text popular science information needed in "Flora of Donglu".Secondly,it classificates and studies excellent plant illustration works at home and abroad,establishes the creation style and creation method of the illustration of "Donglu Flora",and carries out the illustration creation and design practice by focusing on the four characteristics of universality,artistry,interest and humanity.Finally,the plant illustrations will be applied in campus propaganda posters,dynamic popular science posters,campus cultural and creative design,in order to meet the needs of teachers and students in learning and understanding campus plants,and improve people’s interest and attention to science illustration.With the rapid development of new media technology today,the aesthetic and pursuit of modern people are also changing.This design practice uses modern digital painting to integrate science popularization with art,and innovates in research perspective and content,aiming at propagandising and popularizing campus plants with artistic means,and serving for popularizing campus culture and improving campus image on the occasion of the centennial celebration of Yunnan University,promote the practice of the concept of ecological civilization,and help the construction of campus ecological culture.
