| Studying the historical evolution of the Korean Peninsula is an important part of the development of East Asian civilization. At the end of the 9th century, the Silla Dynasty, which had enjoyed great prosperity, eventually declined due to poor governance in later generations, which led to domestic unrest.Later, the local tycoons, who had been struggling to merge with each other, established local governments called "Later-Baekje" and "Later-Gao Gouli"(which later became the "Goryeo Dynasty")and established themselves with Silla. The Korean Peninsula has entered the historical stage of what later generations called the "Later-Three Kingdoms Epoch." This article takes the relationship between Silla and Later Baekje,Later-Gao Gouli and Goryeo in the Later Three Kingdoms Period as the research object.Firstly, systematically sorts out the weakness and disorder of the feudal rule in the later silla period.Secondly, constructs the political and military changes of Silla in the Later-Three Kingdoms Epoch in chronological order. Finally, discuss and sum up the situation of silla’s countermeasures.According to the study,it is found that in the Later Three Kingdoms Epoch, which was centered on the five Kings of King Xiao-Gong,King Shen-De,King Jing-Ming,King Jing-Ai,and King Jing-Shun,took countermeasures to save the country. The succession of King Xiao-Gong and King Shen-De is closely related to the changes in the current situation.Among them,King Shen-De even succeeded to the throne under a different surname and peacefully completed the transformation of the royal government at the end of Silla.During this period,Silla continued to be attacked by military forces from Later-Baekje and Later-Gao Gouli, and both kings responded conservatively and won the Battle of Dae-Ya City one after another.Later, the establishment of the Goryeo Dynasty was an important turning point in the "Later-Three Kingdoms" phase.King Jing-Ming established a friendly relationship with Goryeo in order to strengthen the "Piao clan’s royal rule" and to defend the Later-Baekje.King Jing-Ming’s countermeasures for the continuation of his predecessors expanded his cooperation with Goryeo.King Jing-Ai intervened too much in the relationship between Goryeo and the Later-Baekje,and was avenged by the Later-Baekje and eventually died in the Bao-Shi Pavilion.Although King Jing-Shun succeeded to the throne thanks to the support of Later-Baekje,he was able to grasp the current situation and continue the good relationship of Goryeo. In the end,King Jing-Shun decided to hand over the land to Goryeo. This is important for reunification of the peninsula. The response and adjustment of Silla’s relations with Later-Baekje,Later-Gao Gouli and Goryeo undoubtedly had a profound impact on Silla’s outcome. |
