Epoch-Making Monument:Kechanov’s Contribution To The Study Of Western Xia History

As an indispensable part of Chinese history,the history of Western Xia has always been valued by many scholars for its research.Especially since the Qing Dynasty,Western Xia studies have gradually developed and flourished,which has aroused more and more scholars to study and pay attention to the history of Western Xia.An expert in Russian Western Xia Studies and a doctor of history,Kechanov,director and professor of the St.Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences,is one of them.He gradually became interested in the process of collating historical materials of Western Xia studies,and in the future he actively devoted himself to the study of Western Xia Studies,and his achievements in the study of Western Xia Studies gradually became prominent.The research on Professor Kechanov and Western Xia Studies has always been concerned by many scholars at home and abroad.Some scholars have praised Professor Kechanov’s contribution to the research and development of Western Xia history by writing papers.This article consists of three parts.The first chapter discusses the origin of Kechanov’s scholarship and the history of historiography,mainly discussing his life experience,teacher relationship and management history.The formation of Kechanov as a scientist.In the introduction section,it focuses on the research methods,research objectives and significance of this article,the main research content,and the research overview of academia at home and abroad.The second chapter examines Kechanov’s main contributions to the study of the history of Western Xia,and conducts systematic research by comparing the documents of Heishuicheng,interpreting the historical materials of Western Xia,and promoting international academic exchanges.The third chapter discusses Kechanov’s profound influence on the historiography of Western Xia.Analyzed the materials Kichanov wrote to further study Xixia,and also described his interaction with Chinese scientists.This article analyzes Kechanov’s contribution to the development of Western Xia historiography from the perspective of historiography,takes Kechanov’s life experience and political history experience as the entry point for research,and based on the research of Russian scholars on Kechanov’s historiography,strives to reflect Kechanov’s profound influence on the Xixia Institute of History to the greatest extent possible.influence.
