Objective: Through the induction and analysis of the medical data of patients with functional constipation,to explore the characteristics of functional constipation and the distribution of TCM syndrome types, and analyze the use rules of traditional Chinese medicine.Summarize the syndrome and treatment rules of functional constipation with retrospective analysis. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of the tutor in treating the disease based on syndrome differentiation. It is expected to provide more perfect clinical and objective basis and help for the prevention and treatment of functional constipation in the future. Methods: Collect 110 patients with functional constipation who met the inclusion criteria from September 2019 to September 2020 in the outpatient department of Spleen and Stomach Diseases,Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Patients’ general data(age, gender, course of disease,etc.),disease-related information(present history, past history, etc.),TCM syndrome differentiation and drug dispatching group data were recorded, and the collected data were sorted out and summarized and a database was established.Statistical software SPSS26.0was used to analyze the collected data. The conclusion was drawn by comparing the changes of symptoms and symptom scores before and after treatment. When P < 0.05,the difference was considered statistically significant.Results:1.General data analysis: The incidence of 110 patients in women was significantly higher than that in men, with the ratio of male to female being about 1:1.9.The average age of patients was56.05±20.22 years old,and most of them were middle-aged and elderly people over 55 years old.Among them,80% had a disease course of more than one year, with an average course of34.41±32.94 months, and 81% had moderate to severe constipation at the time of treatment.54.5%of the patients had no previous disease, the majority of patients with other basic diseases have hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia at the same time.2.Distribution of syndrome types: According to the four diagnostic methods of traditional Chinese medicine,FC syndrome differentiation can be divided into the following five types: intestinal solid heat syndrome, large intestine qi stagnation syndrome, deficiency of both lung and spleen syndrome,life-gate fire decline syndrome, and intestinal deficiency syndrome.Among them, deficiency syndrome accounted for a large number of patients, and the number of different syndrome types in descending order was: 33 cases(30%)of the syndrome of fluid deficiency and intestinal stagnation,27 cases(24.5%)of the syndrome of life-gate fire decline,21 cases(19%)of the syndrome of lung qi deficiency,17 cases(15.5%)of the large intestine qi stagnation,12 cases(11%)of the syndrome of intestinal hyperthermia.Empirical patients have more young patients than middle-aged and elderly patients. In a group of 110 patients,The top 15 Chinese medicine use frequency were angelica sinensis 87 times, honey purple seed 76 times,Fructus aurantii 76 times,Fructus aurantii 71 times,raw/fried white Rhizoma Aurantii 67 times, fried Semen Raphani 67 times,American ginseng 65 times,Radix xylocarum 57 times, fried Perilla seed 55 times, pecan kernel 46 times, bitter almond43 times,Chinese ginseng 41 times,Fructus officinalis 37 times,Magnolia officinalis 35 times and Fructus officinalis 31 times.3.Clinical efficacy: Among the 110 patients treated with TCM decoction,32 cases were cured,31 cases were significantly effective and 32 cases were effective.9 cases with ineffective treatment, the total efficiency was 91.1%.The total effective rate of all syndrome types from low to high was intestinal solid heat syndrome(75%),large intestine qi stagnation syndrome(88.2%),deficiency of both lung and spleen syndrome(90.5%),life-gate fire failure syndrome(96.3%),and intestinal stagnation syndrome(97%).After treatment, the scores of TCM symptoms and self-evaluation of quality of life were significantly improved, and the total scores of symptoms before and after treatment were 9.15±2.46 and 4.17±1.15,respectively.The PAC-QOL scores were 76.94±17.84 and41.65±15.33,respectively.Conclusions:1.The occurrence of functional constipation is related to age and gender, and the number of male and female patients is significantly different, with females accounting for nearly two-thirds;There were significantly more older patients than younger patients. The high incidence of this disease is in the elderly, those with high living pressure and lack of exercise.2.There was significant difference in the gender and age distribution of TCM syndrome types of functional constipation. Most of the elderly patients have deficiency syndrome, and most of the young patients have empirical syndrome, appropriate reference can be made for patients with functional constipation in TCM syndrome differentiation.3.TCM syndrome differentiation treatment has a significant effect on FC.After treatment, constipation symptoms and life quality of patients are significantly improved, which is of high value for clinical promotion.
