Objective: By investigating the current situation of nurses’ self-care,stressors,stress response and job performance in the emergency department of the third class A hospital in Changsha City, and analyzing the relevant influencing factors, the relationship between nurses’ self-care,stressors,stress response and job performance in the emergency department is discussed, and the influencing mechanism among nurses’ self-care,stressors,stress response and job performance is clarified. It provides a theoretical basis for nursing managers to formulate effective measures to improve the self-care ability of nurses in emergency department, reduce the stress response of nurses in emergency department and improve their work performance. Methods:From February to April 2022,nurses in the emergency department of 12 Grade A hospitals in Changsha,Hunan Province were selected by random cluster sampling method.General data questionnaire,self-care Scale(SCS),nurse job stressors Scale,Stress Response Questionnaire(SRQ),and Nursing Job Performance Scale(NPS)were used to investigate them.Cronbach’s coefficient was used to test the reliability of each scale, and confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the validity of each scale.Descriptive analysis is made on the general demographic characteristics of the objects in this study.Independent sample t test or one-way analysis of variance were conducted for the differences among dimensions of self-care,stressors,stress response and job performance of nurses in emergency department without demographic characteristics.Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation among self-care,stressors,stress response and job performance of nurses in Grade A hospitals. The mediating effect analysis was used to investigate the mediating effect of self-care on stressors and stress response and the mediating effect of self-care and stress response on stressors and job performance of nurses in emergency department.Results:(1)The total score of the nurses of the emergency department is(80.25 ± 18.99)points,and the scores of each dimension are self-friendly(15.13 ± 4.75)points in turn, general human sexy(12.29 ± 4.04)points,mindfulness(13.21 ± 3.79)points,and Self-criticism(14.91 ± 4.86))points,isolation(11.95 ± 3.72)points,excessive addiction(11.53 ± 3.81)points.The total score of the stress source is(97.38 ± 19.08),and the scores of each dimension are nursing majors and work(19.34 ± 4.87)points,workload and time allocation(13.80 ± 3.48)points,working environment and resources(8.24 ± 2.27).Patient care(30.87 ± 7.41)points,management and interpersonal relationships(25.12 ± 6.14).The total score of stress reactions is(80.65 ± 21.45),each dimension score is psychological response(33.42 ± 11.13)points,physical reactions(25.23± 7.99)points,social behavior(16.69 ± 5.65)points,and other(5.31 ± 2.19)point.The overall work performance is(73.69 ± 18.12),each dimension score is the task performance(26.34 ±6.96),and the peripheral performance(47.34 ± 13.60)points.(2)Multi-factor analysis showed that age, years of working in emergency department and job satisfaction were the influencing factors of self-care of emergency department nurses.Professional title and years of working in emergency department were the factors affecting the stressors of emergency department nurses.Gender, professional title, years of working in emergency department and employment type were the influencing factors of stress response of emergency department nurses.Age,job title, working years and employment type are the factors affecting the performance of nurses in emergency department.(3)Analysis of correlation shows that the self-care and stress score of nurses of the emergency department show negative correlation(R =-0.585,P <0.01));The performance of nurse nurses in the emergency department is negatively correlated(R =-0.549,P<0.01);the self-care and stress response score of nurses in the emergency department is correlated(R =-0.567,P < 0.01);Emergency nurse nurses’ self-care and work performance scores are positively correlated(R = 0.541,P <0.01);Emergency nurse’s stress response and work performance scores are negative(R =-0.630,P <0.01).(4)Analysis of the intermediary effect shows that the intermediary effect is available between the stress source and the stress response(the effect value is 0.566,P <0.001);(The effect value is-0.516,P <0.001).Conclusion:(1)Nurses in the emergency department are at a medium level of self-care,a high level of stressors,a low level of stress response, and a high level of work performance.(2)Self-care,stressors,stress response and job performance of emergency department nurses were significantly correlated;Self-care is the mediating variable between stressors and stress response of emergency department nurses, and self-care and stress response is the mediating variable between stressors and job performance of emergency department nurses.
