ObjectiveTo explore the correlation among job burnout, stressor, temperament type and anxietyof emergency nurses by questionnaire survey. According to the findings, set thecorresponding pressure management mode, adopt comprehensive intervention measures,improve the personality characteristics, significantly reduce the overall incidence ofemergency nurses about job burnout, alleviate anxiety symptoms, protect the physical andmental health of nurses in emergency department.MethodsUsing random cluster sampling method, choose three three-grade omnibus publichospitals in Jinan City as a sample.112emergency nurses in these hospitals who meet thecriteria were selected as investigation objects, and carried on the questionnaire survey. Thecontent includes the Maslach Burnout Inventory (revised version of the MBI-GS), nursejob stressors scale, Chen Huichang, temperament questionnaire, the self-rating anxietyscale and self-made general situation questionnaire. The collected results were statisticallyanalyzed. Selecting out102emergency nurses who existed job burnout, which wererandomly divided into the observation group51and the control group51, the control groupwas given the general stress management methods, on the basis of this, the observationgroup adopted corresponding methods of stress management according to the temperamenttypes, including the comprehensive intervention measures which contained theoptimization of personality characteristics, expert lectures, changing management modeand so on.3months later, carry on the questionnaire survey again, according to thecollected data, the control group and the observation group had compared with each other.They also compared themselves in order to observe the effects which different methods ofstress management would cause on job stress, job burnout, anxiety.Results The emergency nurses almost existed the different degree of job burnout; accordingto the findings, there were8types of temperament: phlegmatic quality, sanguine quality,multi-phlegmatic quality, bilious quality and mixed quality accounted for major part;melancholic quality, multi-melancholic quality, phlegmatic-melancholic quality accountedfor only a little part;24%existed mild anxiety,9%existed moderate anxiety; before stressmanagement intervention, the general situation, job burnout, job stressors, temperamenttype, anxiety scale scores of the two group emergency nurses were compared with nostatistical significance (P>0.05); sanguine quality score and emotional exhaustion scoreshad significantly negative correlation, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);melancholic quality score and emotional exhaustion, cynicism score had significantlypositive correlation, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), melancholicquality score and low personal accomplishment score have significant negative correlation,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Observation group was in self controlbefore and after stress management intervention. Self rating Anxiety Scale scores werestatistically significant differences (P<0.001), each dimension of job burnout scores werestatistically significant differences (P<0.05), all dimensions of Job stressors scale scoreswhich were analyzed by statistical processing showed that the scores of the nursingprofession and work pressure source (I), allocation of time and workload stressors (II),patient care pressure source (IV), and management and interpersonal relationship pressuresource (V) had statistically significant difference (P<0.01); after the intervention,Self-rating Anxiety Scale scores of two group emergency nurses were statisticallysignificant differences (P<0.001), emotional exhaustion and depersonalization twodimension scores of job burnout were statistically significant difference (P<0.01), alldimensions of Job stressors scale scores were statistically significant differences (P<0.01).ConclusionEmergency nurses in shifts existed great working pressure and psychological pressure,almost everyone existed different degree of job burnout; emergency nurses job burnout hadsignificantly correlation with temperament types, the emotional exhaustion degree ofsanguine and sanguine tendency emergency nurses was significantly lower than othertemperament types, sanguine and sanguine tendency nurses were more suitable foremergency nursing work, melancholic quality and melancholic quality tendency nurses hadsignificant anxiety symptoms, who were not suitable for emergency nursing work; malenurses in emergency department had strong resistance to pressure, the job burnout degreeof male nurses was lower than female nurses in emergency department, but their personal accomplishment was lower than female emergency nurses. The hospital managers shouldincrease male nurses in emergency department, but need to encourage and guide, andenhance their occupation emotion, improve personal achievement in work; adoptcomprehensive intervention measures which was a kind of effective intervention way toalleviate job burnout, optimize and improve the personality characteristics, enhancecomprehensive management ability, reduce the work pressure, protect the physical andmental health of nurses in emergency department.
