In the face of international turbulence,the competition of modern agricultural enterprises has shifted from a single individual to the industry chain,and even the whole industry chain network.At the same time,governments at all levels have responded positively to the policy of transition to new from old economic engines and attached great importance to the development of the whole industrial chain of agricultural enterprises.In the context of promoting the development of agriculture enterprises,as an important part of agriculture [agriculture in a broad sense refers to industrial forms including planting,forestry,animal husbandry and fisheries by-products species,while agriculture in a narrow sense refers to planting],swine production industry continues to upgrade the industrial chain structure,in order to become enterprises with a tag that "integration,synergy,cost reduction and efficiency fixing".Therefore,how to effectively implement the whole industrial chain strategy and evaluate the implementation effect are directly related to the development pulse and policy implementation of China’s swine production industry,and even affect the implementation of rural revitalization and livelihood guarantee,which can also make them re-examine the strengths and weaknesses of their industry chain management and optimize the strategic layout of the industry chain.This paper takes Muyuan Food Co.,Ltd(hereinafter referred to as "Muyuan Co.,Ltd")as an example,firstly,we searched a lot of literature and cases about the whole industrial chain strategy,and sorted out the logical relationship between the whole industrial chain strategy and enterprise performance evaluation;secondly,we explored the motivation,process and effect of its implementation of industrial chain management,and examined the value chain theory,transaction cost theory and synergy theory involved.Finally,through field research and expert interviews,we compile Qin Yinglin [Qin Yinglin,Chairman of Muyuan Co.,Ltd.] ’s public statements and materials,and combine with the characteristics and strategic layout of the swine production industry.Analytic Hierarchy Process method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method were selected to construct an evaluation system for 25 indicators in the three dimensions of financial management,internal business operations and society of this case.Based on it,we can determine the weights of each indicator and score the data of Shepherd Plains from 2016 to 2020 to comprehensively evaluate the corporate performance of the implementation of the enterprise’s whole industry chain strategy.In summary,the paper found that Muyuan Co.,Ltd has achieved effective connection of value-added nodes of the industrial value chain through the implementation of the whole industrial chain strategy,and the financial synergy effect,internal operational synergy effect and social performance are highlighted.However,the strategic expansion has led to a large proportion of heavy assets,weak asset realization ability,high management costs and certain financial risks;the slow development of the downstream link,which does not match the development speed of the upstream and midstream.Based on this,this article proposes recommendations for the implementation of whole industrial chain strategy from three aspects: slowing down the expansion rate and optimizing the asset management model;strengthening the core competitiveness,improve the efficiency of resource cohesion;improving the brand image to enhance sustainable development.Overall,this study provides a theoretical refinement for the optimization and upgrading of the whole industrial chain strategy and the improvement of corporate performance of agricultural-based enterprises in China. |
