Research On The Legend Of Li Shizhen In Eastern Hubei

Li Shizhen is not only a famous medical scientist in ancient China,but also aworld-renowned cultural celebrity.the academic community has long focused on the study of Li Shizhen’s ’Compendium of Materia Medica’ and his medical thoughts,while few scholars have focused on the study of Li Shizhen’s legends.As an important part of the legend of famous doctors,the legend of Li Shizhen artistically reproduces his moving deeds of studying drugs,curing the sickness and saving the patient,benefitting the people,with infinite ideological brilliance and artistic charm.The legend of Li Shizhen has spread in Hubei,Anhui,Guangdong,Jiangxi,Jiangsu,Shandong,Henan,Hebei and other places,especially in the eastern part of Hubei where his hometown is located.In view of this,this thesis takes the legend of Li Shizhen in eastern Hubei as the research object,and conducts a systematic and in-depth study on the legend of Li Shizhen in eastern Hubei by collecting a large number of legend texts and field investigations.The thesis begins with an introduction and ends with a conclusion.The main part of the thesis is divided into four chapters.The introduction part expounds the origin of the topic and the research significance of this thesis,and also summarizes the research status at home and abroad.In addition,it summarizes the research ideas and research methods,and points out the innovations and shortcomings of this thesis.The first chapter studies the folklore types of Li Shizhen’s legend in eastern Hubei on the basis of close reading of the text.From the legends of Li Shizhen in eastern Hubei,many common types of folktale are extracted,such as the type of tiger seeking medical treatment and gratitude,the type of the test of supernatural beings,the type of leprosy woman,the type of irritating treatment,the type of magic needle saving the puerpera,the type of distinguishing poison and relieving grievance and the type of a woman eating polygonatum.the rheological history of these types of folktale is summarized one by one,from which we can see the relationship between Li Shizhen’s legends in eastern Hubei and cultural traditions.At the same time,through the detailed analysis of the text of the legend of Li Shizhen in eastern Hubei,this chapter reveals the creative psychology of the people.The second chapter,through the comparative study of Li Shizhen’s historical writing and folk narrative,shows the process of legendary deduction of Li Shizhen’s legend in eastern Hubei on the basis of historical facts.It is believed that the legend of Li Shizhen in eastern Hubei is the result of legendaryization of Li Shizhen’s birth,medical skills and the history of seeking prescriptions and drugs based on historical facts.On the basis of the first two chapters,the third chapter puts the legend of Li Shizhen in eastern Hubei under the broad social background,and explains the social and cultural functions of the legend of Li Shizhen in eastern Hubei in cultural memory,cultural identity and moral education,which highlights the era value of the legend of Li Shizhen.The fourth chapter focuses on the contemporary development of Li Shizhen’s legend in eastern Hubei.It points out the difficulties faced by its current development,and analyzes its feasible development path on this basis.The conclusion part is a summary of the full text,and the research on the legend of Li Shizhen is prospected.
