How to improve the enthusiasm of students in Chinese reading class and which teaching mode meets the needs of students with different reading levels are the issues that have attracted much attention in Chinese reading teaching.This paper takes the students of the intermediate class of the International College of “YWICC” as the research object,focuses on the problem that the reading attitude and behavior of students with different Chinese proficiency are quite different,and uses the action research method to explore the impact of the application of cooperative learning mode in Chinese reading teaching on students’ reading attitude and reading behavior.And on this basis,further explore the mechanism of this model affecting students’ reading attitude and behavior.In this paper,action research is used as the research method,and questionnaires,interviews,etc.are used as data collection methods,and two stages of action research are implemented.Practice shows that cooperative learning can effectively promote mutual encouragement,stimulate students’ sense of participation and improve students’ reading attitude and reading behavior.Changes in the roles of students and teachers,heterogeneous grouping,slicing and splicing of tasks,communication between groups and other elements promote changes in students’ reading attitude and behavior,and improve students’ reading ability.However,there are still problems in this study,such as lack of theoretical knowledge of teachers,unsuitable teaching materials and low applicability.For this reason,the following suggestions are put forward in this paper: First,teachers should fully grasp the theory of cooperative learning and the method of action research before designing teaching activities,and timely change their roles to promote students to carry out group cooperative learning;Second,select the cooperative task of textbook design that adapts to students’ level and is close to students’ life,and adjust the teaching progress appropriately;Third,pay attention to students’ learning inside and outside the classroom,establish classroom emergency plan and extracurricular reading check mechanism;Fourth,attract more frontline teachers to apply cooperative learning mode in more teaching situations,or adopt diachronic research,in order to more accurately observe the teaching effect of cooperative learning mode in Chinese reading class.
