Italian writer Elena Ferrante’s "The Neapolitan Tetralogy" features two women,Elena and Lila,as protagonists, describes their upbringing and life experiences, and expresses their construction and pursuit of female subjectivity.Through "The Neapolitan Tetralogy",Ferrante expresses her concern about the plight of women’s existence and her thinking on women’s writing, and study the women’s writing in "The Neapolitan Tetralogy" through the method of close text reading,in order to explore the importance and uniqueness of women’s writing. The text of the article is divided into four chapters. The first chapter mainly studies the relationship between Elena Ferrante, the author of "The Neapolitan Tetralogy",the writing background and women’s writing.Ferrante observes and experiences life from the perspective of women, and her works show his thinking about women’s living situation and concern for women’s fate. The second chapter mainly studies the images of the two protagonists Lila,Elena and other women in "The Neapolitan Tetralogy".In "The Neapolitan Tetralogy",Lila is like a rebel, fierce and decisive;Elena is like a rebel, gentle but firm. They support each other and fight together. They are both friends and comrades-in-arms.Other female images mainly discuss the female images of the first generation and the second generation. The first generation of women is the image of "disabled" women who have lost their identity. They are bound by patriarchy in the family and lack self-awareness.The second generation of women is the "voiceless" female image under the gaze of men.In the patriarchal culture, they are under the gaze of men,and they are forced to accept and get used to silence as a response. The third chapter mainly studies the double themes of women’s writing in "The Neapolitan Tetralogy",namely mother-daughter relationship and female genealogy, female discourse and female growth.Due to the violent intervention of patriarchy, the relationship between mother and daughter is broken, and the female pedigree is also lost. After Elena and her mother understood each other and reached a reconciliation, the mother-daughter relationship was renewed, and the female genealogy was thus rebuilt. If women want to gain subjectivity, they need to master female discourse and build female authority. In the process of pursuing subjectivity,Elena completed self-growth and self-salvation.The fourth chapter mainly studies the narrative strategies written by women in "The Neapolitan Tetralogy"."The Neapolitan Tetralogy" starts from the first-person female narrative perspective, adopts the first-person narrative method and "autobiographical" writing form, uses close to real narrative techniques, uses "false realism" narrative methods and shortens the narrative distance The novel’s writing strategy enhances the authenticity of the novel and gives readers a strong sense of reality, thus arousing the thinking and resonance of readers, especially female readers.
