“Ideological and Political Education in All Courses” is not only an important way to implement moral cultivation,but also a key action to promote "all kinds of courses and political courses into the same direction to form a joint effect",which means that ideological and political education ought to be integrated into all aspects of teaching and reform in all-course teaching,so as to promote the organic unity of knowledge imparting and value guidance.English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017edition,2020 revision)clearly stipulate that the nature of ordinary high school English curriculum is "ordinary English curriculum in senior high school is a basic cultural curriculum to fully carry out the educational policy of Communist Party of China,the implementation of moral cultivation,the development of the core quality of English subject,as well as the cultivation of socialist builders and successors".At present,it has been relatively abundant that universities implement the theoretical research and practical exploration of ideological and political education in English course;compared with compulsory education,there are more studies on ideology and politics education in the English curriculum of senior high school,and the amount of research is also increasingly rapid;the study of ideological and political education in senior high school English curriculum is still under exploration on the whole.To a certain extent,this study is helpful to supplement the research about the ideological and political education in senior high school English teaching,and is beneficial to front-line educators to better carry out curriculum ideological and political education teaching practice.Based on the thinking above,this thesis selects all the English teachers and students of S Senior High School in W City as research objects.By quantitative and qualitative research methods,this thesis chooses questionnaires,interviews and other tools to conduct a comprehensive survey on current situation of the curriculum ideological and political education implementation of senior high school English teaching,discover existing problems,explore the attributions and put forward corresponding countermeasures.Therefore,this thesis studies the following three main questions:(1)How is the current situation of the ideological and political education in senior high school English teaching?(2)What are the causes of the existing problems in the ideological and political education of senior high school English teaching?(3)What are the countermeasures for ideological and political education in senior high school English teaching?Through in-depth analysis and discussion of questionnaire data and interview results,the current situation of ideological and political education of senior high school English teaching is as follows: senior high school students attach great importance to their own ideological status,but the formation and development of their Three Views are still in an unstable and unbalanced state.Teachers acknowledge the implementation of ideological and political education,but they differ in the understanding of ideological and political education.The implementation’s current situation of ideological and political education in senior high school English curriculum is at a medium level.There are certain ideological and political practices in teaching content and teaching forms,but the teaching objectives,content,activities of ideological and political teaching is not thorough,and there is a lack of evaluation of ideological and political teaching.The main factors that affect the ideological and political education of senior high school English courses are as shown below: students are affected by the exam-oriented education,so they are short of a correct attitude towards learning.Teachers lack teaching theories of ideological and political education,the initiative to explore.And they cannot deeply explore the education resources and cannot evaluate students from the overall development of students.The teachers who are Party members,class teachers,those with longer teaching experience and with higher professional title hold a better ideological and political understanding and practice of ideological and political education.The support from schools and relevant education departments is not in place,the promotion of ideological and political education is not strong enough,either.Moreover,the supply of relevant resources are insufficient.On the basis of research about the current situation and attributions of ideological and political education in senior high school English teaching,this thesis expounds the countermeasures for the implementation of ideological and political education in senior high school English teaching from the perspectives of students,teachers,schools and education administration departments through literature research.First of all,students should change the concept of learning and treat learning from the angle of all-round development;teachers,schools and administrative departments of education should also change the concept of education and teaching,uphold the same importance of teaching and educating and pay attention to the all-round development of students.Secondly,teachers should improve their ideological and political level and actively learn ideological and political education theories.Teachers ought to carry out ideological and political education by deeply digging into ideological and political elements in teaching content and integrating ideological and political elements into teaching objectives,teaching activities,teaching methods,teaching evaluation and other aspects.Finally,schools and education administration departments should strengthen the learning and training of ideological and political education and promote method exploration and case analysis towards teachers.They can carry out ideological and political teaching demonstration courses and open courses,explore the characteristic activities and courses related to ideological and political education in English teaching.They could improve the evaluation mechanism towards student and teachers,and establish a supervision mechanism for the implementation of ideological and political teaching. |
