In General Secretary Xi Jinping’s discussion on education work,he said that the moral education is the fundamental task of education,which is inseparable from the ideological and political education work.Most of the current high school students are born after 2000,as teenagers in the new era,benefiting from the rapid development of the country,the diversified social environment provides them with convenient information and broad development.At present,high school students are in a period of rapid development of physiology and psychology,and it is very important at this stage to form correct ideas for the future development.However,there are also some negative factors in the complex network society that silently impact the experience of high school students.Based on this,the author starts from the infiltration function of ideological and political education,combining the characteristics of English education,which based on the infiltration theory,social culture theory and the theory of human development to investigate the integration of ideological and political education in high school English reading teaching.In this paper,a questionnaire survey was conducted on teachers and students of five high schools in Harbin,with corresponding classroom observation and teacher interviews,and analysis of the obtained data,mainly used to answer the following three research questions:(1)What is the current situation of the integration of ideological and political education in senior high school English reading teaching?(2)What are the problems in the process of integrating ideological and political education into senior high school English reading teaching?(3)What are the better ways to integrate ideological and political education into senior high school English reading teaching?The results show that the current integration of ideological and political education in high school English reading teaching is not optimistic,and there are many problems in the process of its integration,which can be analyzed from the perspectives of country,society,school,teachers and students.Based on this,the author put forward the corresponding solutions by combining with the results of the survey.For example,we should strengthen the overall attention,implement the national soft and hard measures,build a good network society,and form the social influence of national ideological and political education.At the same time,school education should adhere to the unity of explicit education and implicit education,and promote the development of ideological and political education in English courses.Finally,on the basis of strengthening the training of teachers,we should also establish and improve the corresponding evaluation mechanism of ideological and political education to promote the integration of ideological and political education in high school English reading teaching.
