The report is based on an escort interpreting in which the author served a Hungarian family of Szabo Csongor Tunde with a tour in Changchun Leguan Museum in October,2022.This report is divided into four chapters, including: Task description, introducing the background, requirements and participants of the escort interpreting;Interpreting process, including preparation,on-site interpreting, and assessment;Theoretical framework, introducing the interpreting theories and framework involved in the report, specifically: UMEER framework proposed by Li Changshuan, the Interpretive Theory, the Effort Model;Case analysis, analyzing the specific cases in the escort interpreting. The problems in the process of escort interpreting are summarized through three levels, namely: comprehension, delivery and adaption. The author attempts to explore the problems of listening, memory, delivery, fluency, accuracy and cohesion of interpreting and proposes a number of interpreting skills.During the interpreting analysis, which is constructed through the UMEER framework of understanding-memory-expression-emergency response, the report attempts not to cling to one single interpreting theory. To deal the complex interpreting situations, the interpreter is required to be responsive to multiple effective theories which can be triggered at any moment,so as to avoid a far-fetched understanding and awkward application of the interpreting theories. Therefore, the report coordinates the UMEER framework with the Interpretive Theory and the Effort Model in an attempt to diagnose the problems, analyze the cases, ameliorate the quality of interpreting, and make a vision for future work.Despite of these problems and challenges, the Tundes are satisfied with the interpreting service. The report concludes that when to tackle with repetitive expressions of the announcer or his irrelevant information, the omission strategy can be employed; When the interpreter intends to interpret information sufficiently, she applies the elaboration strategy so as to expand the context; When it is difficult for the interpreter to find equivalent expression at the moment of the interpreting, the paraphrasing strategy can be used.
