A Report On Simultaneous Interpretation For Simulated Conference "Employment Situation Of College Graduates In Recent Years"

Simultaneous interpretation takes place simultaneously with the source language speaker’s speech,and the interpreting activity must end within moments(or at the same time)after the speaker has finished speaking.Sentence-driven is one of the most important features of simultaneous interpreting." Therefore,in this paper,we use the sentence-driven technique and other interpreting techniques to carry out and complete this mock interpreting task,and analyze and to do reflection on the results and effectiveness of this interpreting task.This paper is an interpretation practice report based on the author’s simultaneous interpretation task in a simulated meeting on "The Employment Situation of College Graduates in Recent Years",which analyzes challenges and strategies in the author’s interpretation practice.Since the author’s pre-preparation is not sufficient,which has a certain impact on the quality of interpretation,it is easy to see that pre-interpretation preparation plays an important role in the interpretation process,so the author believes that pre-interpretation preparation should cover a wide range of areas and be detailed.After analysis,the author believes that her performance in this interpretation is closely related to the influence of upstream interpreters,missing interpretation and improper understanding of the source language in the interpretation process,as well as the language ability and psychological quality of the interpreter.In addition,the proper use of relevant interpretation strategies will facilitate smoother interpretation output and better performance.Therefore,through this practice report,the author hopes to reflect on this interpretation performance,point out the direction for the author’s future efforts,and provide a reference for future interpretation practice activities,which will play an important foundation for the author’s future interpretation study and enable her to better handle and respond in future interpretation practice.
