Research On The Construction Of "Degree Adverb + Noun" For International Chinese Teaching

The construction of "adverb of degree + noun" in modern Chinese has been widely used in people’s oral communication with its novel form,rich connotation and meaning,economy,humor and interest.Teaching contents related to the construction of "adverb of degree +noun" have also been written in international Chinese textbooks.Based on linguistic facts,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the construction of "adverb of degree + noun" from the three planes of grammatical studies and the cognitive mechanism and motivation of the construction,and concludes that the unique semantic and pragmatic effects of the construction of "adverb of degree + noun" are the result of the dual suppression of noun semantics by the whole construction meaning and the adverb of degree in the construction.It activates the atypical attributes of nouns,and carries out the design of the related teaching process under the guidance of construction grammar,and puts forward the corresponding teaching suggestions.The research of the paper is divided into four parts.The introduction part mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the research,the research status of the relevant structure at home and abroad,and some theoretical basis,research methods and corpus sources to be used to solve the problem.The first part analyzes the feasibility of studying the "adverb of degree + noun" structure as a construction from the perspective of construction grammar,and investigates the types of "adverb of degree" and "noun",the components of this construction,and puts forward that the "adverb of degree" which can enter into this construction is generally high degree.Nouns include abstract nouns with rich connotations,concrete nouns with specific referential objects and proper nouns with high popularity.The second part analyzes the "adverb of degree + noun" construction from its syntax,semantics and pragmatics,and points out that this construction can serve as predicate,attributive,adverbial,complement and other syntactic functions in sentences,and has outstanding characteristics,uncertainty and rich color meaning in semantic expression.In terms of pragmatic expression,it has economic,flexible,lively and interesting pragmatic effects.The third part,under the guidance of construction grammar theory,examines the formation of the construction of "adverb of degree + noun",explains the cognitive mechanism of the construction of "adverb of degree + noun" from three aspects: construction suppression,lexical suppression and conceptual metonymy,and analyzes the cognitive reasons for the widespread use of this construction from two aspects: innovative usage and pragmatic analogy.The fourth part analyzes the distribution of the "adverb of degree + noun" construction in the current international Chinese teaching materials by investigating the distribution of the "adverb of degree + noun" construction in the 12 textbooks of Developing Chinese(second Edition),as well as the setting of grammatical notes and after-class exercises in the textbooks.In addition,under the guidance of construction grammar theory,the teaching process of "adverb of degree + noun" construction in advanced stage is designed.Combined with the current situation of teaching materials and teaching situation,the author puts forward some suggestions from the aspect of teaching materials that the compilation of teaching materials should be in line with the development of the times,attach importance to richness,refine annotations and strengthen exercises after class.From the perspective of teachers,suggestions on teaching methods and suggestions on how to guide students’ learning are put forward,including expanding teaching materials,designing teaching according to the types of courses,rationally using various teaching methods,combining syntax,semantics,pragmatics with cultural teaching,guiding students to correct attitudes and adjusting learning strategies.This paper aims to provide some inspiration and help for the construction teaching of "degree adverb + noun" which has just entered the international Chinese teaching.International Chinese teachers should fully understand the teaching content and the characteristics of students and other factors in the future teaching,in order to better serve the teaching of the "degree adverb+noun" construction in international Chinese language teaching.
