| The reform of the electric retailing market has gradually become an indispensable part of the energy reform in China.At present,compared with the United States,Japan and Europe,the electric retailing reform in China started late which is still in a critical period of development.Therefore,the China Electric Power Planning&Engineering Institute has determined to introduce a series of books related to energy so as to spread the achievements of energy reform in other countries.The translator selects one of the chapters in Lecture Notes in Energy,which is named The Future of Electric Retailing and How We Get There,as the translation material.Belonging to the typical sci-tech text.The full text selected by the translator contains about 17,000 words and covers topics including smart meters,dynamic pricing,demand response,etc.Based on the Translation Variation Theory(TVT)proposed by Huang Zhonglian,the translator analyzes the translation problems of sci-tech text and then puts forward solutions.In the translation of sci-tech texts,the theory of translation variation can be considered as the guidance to solve lexical problems by means of word class conversion,reformation,deletion and amplification.The methods of omission,narration and transformation can be utilized to solve the problems at the syntactic level during translation practice.Therefore,through the translation practice and detailed analysis,the translator realizes that when translating the sci-tech text,’variation’ should be adapted to make the target text fully convey the original information of the source text and be in line with the expression habit of the target readers. |
