| As sci-tech news can disseminate scientific and technological messages,promote scientific and technological exchanges,and popularize science knowledge to the public,the translation of sci-tech news is inevitably endowed with great practical value.Meanwhile,many scholars have taken a closer look at the problems generated in E-C translation of sci-tech news.Nevertheless,few have come up with solutions under the guidance of translation variation theory.Proposed by professor Huang Zhonglian,the theory is aimed at reproducing the contents of the original by using the appropriate adaptations to meet the special needs of the readers.Choosing E-C translation of sci-tech news as the object of study,this thesis analyzes the sci-tech news features,covers the problems that the author encountered,namely professional information selection,lack of readability,sci-tech knowledge,and differences in cultural background and then further explores proper translation variation strategies to resolve these problems.Specifically,supplement,deletion,condensation,trans-editing and remodeling are recommended.In this way,the author hopes to provide some guidance for future sci-tech news translators. |
