A Simulated C-E Consecutive Interpreting Practice Report On Huang Xuhua’s Speech In Voice Under The Guidance Of The Interpretive Theory

Mr.Huang Xuhua,the academician of Chinese Engineering Academy,was invited to Voice which was the first open course on TV in China to deliver a speech on October 26th,2016.He talked about the obstacles and difficulties during the development of China’s nuclear submarines to encourage the younger generation to work hard hard.Besides,he answered the questions raised by the youth representatives as well.The interpreter selected this show to make a simulated Chinese-English consecutive interpreting.The practice report is based on the simulated consecutive interpreting and consists of four parts.The first part is related to the source of the material and the preparation for the interpretation.The second part illustrates the theoretical framework about the Interpretive Theory by mainly introducing the core principles,application and research of this theory at home and abroad.The next part is concerning the case analysis.The difficulties are analyzed through the cases of the interpretation and the coping methods are put forward in the part.The last part is the conclusion.In this part,the interpreter makes evaluation about the practice and reflect on the shortcomings.Through the simulated interpreting,the interpreter comes up with the conclusion as follow.The sufficient preparation serves as one of essential preconditions for a successful interpreting.Besides,the performance of interpreter during the interpretation also makes a big difference.The interpreter is supposed to de-verbalize the source text to grasp the kernel,which is beneficial to clear up the logic and make a better interpretation.It is necessary for an interpreter to make a self-evaluation about the performance after interpretation and rectify the problem figured out with targeted methods.It is also indispensable for an interpreter to strengthen the capacity of catching the main idea of what the speaker said.
