Guided by the Interpretive Theory,the report makes a systematic analysis of the simulated consecutive interpreting of an academic seminar"Linguistic Features and Teaching Strategies of Chinese Academic Vocabulary" Academic seminars organized by scholars with similar academic backgrounds aim to promote academic exchanges by sharing latest achievements and having discussions.Interpreting of academic seminars plays an important role in spreading knowledge and culture.The report focuses on summarizing the difficulties encountered in the interpreting,and proposing coping strategies.The report aims to provide experience and reference for interpreting of academic seminars in the future.The report contains five chapters.The first chapter is introduction,which describes the task and interpreting process.The second chapter is theoretical framework,in which the Interpretive Theory and triangular model is specially elaborated.The third chapter is case analysis,in which the author analyzes the difficulties in the interpreting under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory:professional expressions and logical confusion in the comprehension phase;dense information and semantic ellipsis in the deverbalization phase;unidiomatic expressions and information non-equivalence in the refonnulation phase.The fourth chapter proposes coping strategies to solve the difficulties in the previous chapter:effective pre-interpreting preparation and inquiry,and grasping the sense from the context in the comprehension phase;reorganization and integration,supplement in the deverbalization phase;reconstruction and original words plus explanation in the reformulation phase.The fifth chapter is conclusion,in which the author summarizes her weakness and shortcomings,and she gives some suggestions for future learning.
