| The situational communication approach is widely used in junior high school English teaching,and teachers create vivid scenes in the teaching process,so that language knowledge is combined with actual situations in order to stimulate students’ interest in learning and further improve students’ communication skills.Although situational communication approach is widely used,it has certain limitations in rural English teaching.This study mainly uses questionnaire,interview and observation method,takes all students of the first grade of a rural middle school in Jinzhong City,Shanxi Province as the research object,studies the application of situational communication teaching in their English classrooms,understands what experiences of situational communication teaching in rural English classrooms are worth learning,analyzes the existing problems and their causes,and puts forward specific suggestions.Firstly,through questionnaires,students’ feedback on the approach of situational communication was collected.Secondly,the interview method was adopted to understand the teachers’ cognition of the situational communication approach.Then,classroom observation was conducted to collect the use of situational communication pedagogy in the teaching of English in the seventh grade.This article focuses on the current situation of the application of situational communication approach in real classrooms,find valuable experience for reference,find the problems in the application process and conduct in-depth analysis,and provide suggestions for the application of situational communication approach in junior high school English teaching.It is found that cross-cultural barriers,large class sizes,and unreasonable assessment methods have become the problems faced by teachers in the process of using situational communication approach.The difference in thinking mode,the difference in learning foundation,and the neglect of the test of oral language ability are the main reasons for the existence of the above three problems.In the face of the above problems,this paper provides practical and effective suggestions for teachers and schools for their reference. |
