Applying situational communication teaching to primary school English classroom teaching can make boring words,grammar and sentence patterns in a real and three-dimensional English environment,create a relaxed and pleasant English learning environment for students,promote students to study actively and form good learning habits,so as to help primary school students form language internalization.Based on Situational Cognition Theory,constructive learning theory and multiple intelligences theory,this study mainly adopts the methods of investigation,interview and classroom observation to investigate the application of situational communication teaching in primary school English classroom by 50 teachers in H District of Wuhan and 300 students in Grades 3-6 of s primary school,and interviewed 5 teachers at the same time,The results show that 83.87% of teachers think it is necessary to use situational communication teaching,90.32% of teachers think it can increase students’ emotional experience,and 87.1% of teachers think it can improve students’ autonomous learning ability;Students’ favorite situational communication teaching methods are: playing English games,playing characters in teaching materials,performing dialogue with classmates,dialogue with teachers and independent expression.In the process of implementation,some achievements have been made to stimulate students’ autonomy,broaden students’ thinking,enhance students’ emotional experience and optimize classroom teaching effect,but there are also some obvious problems: for example,80.65% of teachers believe that the difference of students’ ability level increases the difficulty of situational communication teaching,77.42% of teachers believe that they have heavy burden and insufficient energy The created scenes are only "scenery" and less "emotion".The main reasons for these problems are the lack of systematic training in teaching method theory,the influence of examination oriented education concept,teachers’ deviation in the creation of situational communication and the investment of time and energy.This paper puts forward four suggestions on the application of situational communication teaching in primary school English Classroom: effectively creating situations based on students’ characteristics around teaching objectives and contents;Further strengthen teachers’ integration of situational cognitive theory learning and English teaching;The teaching process of situational communication,which combines the reality of students’ life,simulates the text and forms the real situation;Reasonably adopt dynamic and diversified situational communication teaching evaluation.This paper designs a demonstration lesson of situational communication teaching in primary school English classroom. |
