With the continuous development of science and technology and the promotion of new curriculum and teaching reform,network technology and artificial intelligence are gradually being applied to the field of education and playing an important role in teaching.At the same time,The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022)clearly points out in the curriculum concept that the deep integration of educational technology and English teaching should be promoted.However,the emergence of COVID-19 in 2019 has exposed some limitations in the application of modern educational technology to teaching.Based on the constructive theory and the cone of experience theory,11 English teachers and 198 students at Jingyue First Experimental Middle School in Changchun,Jilin Province,were investigated.The purpose is to find out the problems existing in the current application process,analyze the reasons,and put forward appropriate suggestions through investigation so as to improve the smooth progression of English classroom teaching,assist English teachers in creating efficient classroom teaching,and obtain better teaching results.The research questions are as follows: 1.What is the current situation of the application of modern educational technology in junior middle school English teaching? 2.What are the problems existing in the teaching English with modern educational technology by junior middle school teachers? 3.How do teachers scientifically apply modern educational technology to junior middle school English teaching?After the literature research,questionnaires were first used to research students’ cognition and attitude regarding the use of modern educational technology,the impact of modern educational technology on students’ English learning,and teachers’ application situations.Secondly,the teachers’ cognition,attitude,and practical application of modern educational technology were investigated through interviews.Through the summary and analysis of the research data,the following results are found: improper application of teachers makes students lack time to think independently in English class;it doesn’t make students grasp English knowledge well;and makes students easy to visual fatigue.Teachers seldom explore the efficient application of modern educational technology after class;teachers seldom provide students with the opportunity to practice English with modern educational technology;writing or formatting errors often occur in courseware.Based on the above findings,the following suggestions are put forward for the existing problems from English teachers,schools,and relevant education sectors on how to scientifically apply modern educational technology to junior middle school English teaching.First of all,English teachers should improve their ability to integrate modern educational technology with traditional teaching,rationally design and appropriately arrange their teaching capacity according to teaching content.Secondly,schools should provide teachers with help in teacher training,teaching resources,and teaching equipment.At the same time,relevant education sectors should provide support for schools and teachers through financial input to ensure the quality of teaching hardware.This thesis is based on the author’s survey and an analysis of the survey data.It is hoped that the research results of this thesis can be used as a reference in English teaching. |
