With the rapid development of information technology and the deepening of education reform,information technology with computer and network as the core has brought a wide and far-reaching impact on our social life,but also impact on modern education.Information technology has become the education teaching reform impetus,the widespread application of modern education technology in basic education stage,to improve the teachers’ information literacy,making more and more elementary school teachers choose to use the modern education technology to English teaching of subject,this provides an opportunity for primary school English teaching reform,impel the transformation of the primary school English teaching methods directly.The integration of information technology and English curriculum is beneficial for teachers to create better teaching situation and improve students’ learning effect.At the same time of changing the Way of English teaching,it also changes the way of learning of students,so as to optimize the structure of English class,promote students’ thinking ability,stimulate students’ interest in learning,and improve the efficiency of English classroom teaching.This paper mainly adopts literature method,questionnaire method,interview method and other research methods.Firstly,it searches literature to understand the latest trends of the application of modern educational technology in English teaching.Secondly,through the investigation of the application of modern educational technology in English teaching in primary schools in Yuhuatai District,Nanjing city,students’ attitudes towards the application of modern educational technology in English teaching,learning evaluation and so on were understood by questionnaire,and teachers’ understanding and attitude towards the use of modern educational technology were understood by interview.Then the correlation analysis is carried out on students’ learning under the support of modern educational technology,the relationship between teachers’ understanding of theory and frequency of use,the relationship between students’ liking for information technology and attention maintenance,and the development and effect of information technology in English teaching.Secondly,the differences of teachers’ mastery of information technology and frequency of use,the differences of classroom application of information technology on the attention of middle and senior primary school students,and the differences of classroom application of information technology on teacher-student interaction are analyzed.At the same time,countermeasures and suggestions are put forward for the effective application of modern educational technology in primary School English teaching: integrating curriculum resources to improve the quality of English teaching;Create teaching situation,increase classroom vitality;Flexible use of a variety of technologies to promote students’ thinking ability;Create a good information environment,complete software and hardware support;Carry out targeted information training to improve teachers’ educational technology ability.Finally,this paper summarizes the current investigation on the application of modern educational technology in primary School English teaching,points out the shortcomings of this research and makes a prospect for this research.
