The Translation Report Of The 2021 Social Responsibility Report Of China’s Insurance Industry(C-E)

The insurance sector is committed to providing comprehensive and high-quality insurance protection and services for economic and social development,the national economy,and people’s livelihood.Currently,there are relatively few studies on insurance translation.The source text of this translation report is 2021 China Insurance Industry Social Responsibility Report(hereinafter referred to as the Report),which contains a large number of professional expressions and hotspot information.This report aims to improve the translator’s own translation level and provide a reference for the subsequent translation of similar texts in the insurance sector.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of the source text(the Report)and guided by Newmark’s communicative translation theory,this report analyzes and summarizes the translation process from three aspects of vocabulary,sentence and discourse.In terms of words,the report analyzes proper nouns,terms with Chinese characteristic,new terms and four-character Chinese phrases;In terms of sentences,the report analyzes long and complex sentences and non-subject sentences;In terms of discourses,the report emphasizes the cohesion of the translation.The report concludes with reflections and limitations.Through the translation practice,the translator believes that the purpose of informational text’s translation is information transmission.The translation should be as concise and clear as possible,close to the original text and in line with the expression habits of the target language,to achieve the communicative effect.
