| English reading in senior high school is an important part of the English subject in senior high school.English reading class in senior high school is often a teacher’s lecture.In the classroom,too much attention is paid to words,grammar and sentence patterns,and students’ subjective initiative and practical ability to use language are ignored.Cooperative learning method can stimulate students’ interest in learning,advocate students’ practice and experience,cooperation and communication,change the old teaching methods,enable students to participate in classroom teaching and learning activities with interest,and improve students’ English reading performance.This study was conducted in a class of senior two in Huangliu Middle School,an affiliated middle school of East China Normal University,and was committed to the reform of teaching and learning,with the aim of improving the English reading performance of senior high school students in the class.In English classroom teaching for senior high school students,we try to apply cooperative learning method to teaching activities,and study the following three aspects: What are the problems of local senior high school students in English reading? How to apply cooperative learning to English reading teaching in senior high school? How can cooperative learning improve the interest and achievement of senior high school students in English reading? This study is based on social culture,second language acquisition and constructivism theory;The research was carried out by questionnaire,interview and test methods;The research process focuses on the object,problem,method and process,from which valuable conclusions can be drawn.This study applies the cooperative learning method to the teaching of English reading,carries out a practical investigation and analysis of all aspects,expounds the corresponding methods in the five links of implementation,and attaches two teaching cases,from which we can get specific practices.Then,use the school’s professional performance management platform to search for test data such as reference number,average score,and standard deviation for the pre test and post test,and use SPSS 18.0 to analyze whether there is a significant difference in the average score between the pre test and post test results.This study has three valuable conclusions: in senior high school English reading,students are not enough attention and lack interest,lack self-control before,during and after English reading class,and lack problem-solving methods and strategies;The application of cooperative learning method to English reading teaching in senior high school can be divided into three steps and five links;According to the interview analysis,students generally like cooperative learning mode.At the same time,according to the test data,cooperative learning method can improve senior high school students’ English reading interest and performance,and students’ performance has been greatly improved. |
