Research On Contribution Movement In Shandong Liberated Area

War is not only a confrontation between the military forces of the opposing sides,but also a comprehensive competition of factors such as logistical support and economic strength.During the War of Resistance against Japan,the Shandong base area carried out revolutionary heroism activities in the people’s army with the creation of heroic models as the main content,in order to stimulate the soldiers’ enthusiasm for fighting.Meanwhile,the creation of heroic models had also been applied to the production campaign.During the production campaign,the Communist Party of China cast workers who had outstanding achievements in the field of production and were recognized by the masses as model characters,and took it as an entry point to mobilize the people to work harder for production.The continuous emergence of model figures not only improved the material life of the people in the base areas,but also promoted the transformation of social atmosphere and the process of rural reconstruction.Nevertheless,with the gradual exposure of the disadvantages of model creation,it was inevitable to make certain adjustments and transformations.In the period of Chinese Civil War,the Kuomintang and the Communist Party launched a fierce competition around Shandong.In order to maximize the integration of resources of all parties and tap the potential of war,inspired by the ordinary people,the Shandong Liberated Area had made model creation universal and comprehensive,and has been widely carried out in various industries in the name of the Contribution Movement.As an effective mobilization method,the Contribution Movement was first carried out among the soldiers who were directly involved in the war.And as a result,it attracted the attention of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and spread to all liberated areas across the country.With the continuous emergence of meritorious persons,the Communist Party of China had gradually established a reward system in the military with the main contents of rally praise,medals,and honorary titles.The civilian worker supporting the front line who was in the middle of the front and the rear was a significant group to carry out the Contribution Movement.Due to serious ideological concerns and low level of education,the civilian worker with farmer as the main component were the beneficiaries of the land reform,but their understanding of the Contribution Movement was still extremely vague.Therefore,the civilian worker organization and group carried some methods to inspire workers’emotion of struggle,including replenishing contribution,reflecting and slogan.The formulation of contribution standards and the cultivation of typical characters had pointed out the directions of effort and examples to follow for the civilian workers.In terms of rewards,the civilian worker agencies had adopted a policy of giving priority to spiritual rewards and supplementing material rewards.In addition,the civilian workers also commended and encouraged those meritorious workers through allegro,blackboard newspapers,jingle and other cultural and entertainment methods.And with the continuous development of the movement,the promotion of cadres outside the plan of the agencies had gradually become an important way to reward workers.Through the advocacy of the party and government,people from various industries in the rear also participated in the wave of meritorious service.At the beginning,the people in the rear regarded it as a matter of the front line and the armed sector and held a skeptical attitude,and the view was demystified and simplified.In order to handle this situation,the Communist Party of China carried out systematic education about current affairs,class and contribution.In the process of constructing the organizational system,the Liberated Area gradually established a contribution organization which was compatible with the administrative system,and further clarified its authority and personnel generation method.Moreover,the principles and procedures of contribution evaluation and the variety of prizes were gradually determined.In the Contribution Movement,the Communist Party of China,a political force that is marching towards the road of governance,demonstrated its strong capabilities of mobilization and overall planning.Through the call for "contribution",the party successfully established a bond between ordinary individuals and the revolutionary war,and then brought the daily life of people into the orbit of the war.
