Cultural teaching and language teaching both play an important role in International Chinese Language Education.As an important literary genre,poetry is an important part of cultural teaching.Compared with the important position of classical poetry in International Chinese Language Teaching,the study of modern poetry is slightly insufficient.Therefore,starting from this current research situation,this thesis mainly adopts methods of literature research,statistical analysis,questionnaire survey,interview and case analysis method to specifically discuss how to carry out relevant teaching and practice of modern poetry from the perspective of International Chinese Language Education.First of all,this thesis makes a statistical analysis of the genre of the selected works in the mainstream textbooks of the comprehensive course and literature course in the perspective of TCFL and the proportion of modern poetry in the textbooks.This thesis also analyzes the learning interest,attitude,situation and teaching requirements of foreign students in Overseas Education College of Xiamen University through questionnaire and interview survey.Secondly,this paper expounds the teaching value of modern Chinese poetry in terms of language aesthetics,literary appreciation,thinking innovation and cultural perception from the perspective of International Chinese Language Education.Based on the above theoretical analysis and practical teaching needs,this paper analyzes the teaching content of modern Chinese poetry in the perspective of International Chinese Language Education from the five dimensions:language,rhythm,imagery,thematic emotion and cultural communication.Thirdly,combining the students’ learning situation,teaching requirements and teaching theory of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this thesis elaborates the"six teaching principles","three learning theories","one teaching mode" and "five teaching methods" which are suitable for modern poetry teaching in International Chinese Language Teaching.Based on the above learning theories,teaching principles and specific teaching methods,this thesis designs modern poetry teaching cases with different themes and appreciation styles for international students in intermediate,advanced and intermediate and advanced stages.Finally,this thesis takes nostalgia as a teaching.case to test teaching modern Chinese poetry from the perspective of International Chinese Language Education through classroom practice,and puts forward relevant teaching suggestions from four aspects of knowledge reserve,teaching skills,cross-cultural communication and teaching consciousness and autonomous learning awareness according to classroom.evaluation and students’ feedback,so as to improve classroom teaching and enrich modern poetry teaching from the perspective of International Chinese Language Education.
