Modern Poetry Teaching In University In1930S

In1930s, modern poetry teaching has initiated since the modern literature entered the university classes. This paper chose four most representative modern poetry teaching materials as the research objects. The four most representative modern poetry teaching materials are Zhu Ziqing’s A General Outline of Chinese New Literature Study, Shen Congwen’s New Literature Research:The Development of Modern Poetry, Su Xuelin’s Chinese Writers in the1920s and1930s, and Fei Ming’s On Modern Poetry.This paper has three chapters. Chapter One describes the background of modern literature entering university classes and reveals the tough progression from the setup of new literature course to the involvement of the modern poetry. The second chapter compares and analyzes the four modern poetry teaching materials in their compilation-. content selection and sentence style. Therefore, we can see the basic style and features about the modern poetry teaching materials clearly in1930s. At the same time, this work can provide reference for the development and innovation in today’s modern poetry teaching materials.The last chapter bases on the four modern poetry teaching materials to investigate the college modern poetry classroom teaching, and think about the conditions of the current situation.Researching in these Modern poetry teaching materials, is not only beneficial to the investigation of the modern poetry teaching in college classroom in1930s, but also beneficial to another dimension discovery and achievement. On the other hand, it can also provide us beneficial reference and enlightenment in today’s modern poetry teaching materials and college modern poetry classroom teaching.
