| Objective: Based on Yang’s theory of pricking-cupping therapy, the clinical efficacy of conventional acupuncture and rolling needle pricking-cupping in the treatment of idiopathic facial nerve palsy with deficiency of qi and blood was verified by using conventional acupuncture and flash cupping. The differences in efficacy of the two methods were evaluated scientifically by comparing conventional acupuncture combined with flash cupping. To explore the feasibility of using and popularizing the rolling needle pricking-cupping method in the treatment of idiopathic facial nerve palsy with qi and blood deficiency. Methods: This research adopts single blind, randomized, controlled study design,to recruit 64 cases accord with standard of qi and blood deficiency type idiopathic facial palsy cases, were divided into two groups at random,on the basis of conventional acupuncture treatment, rolling needle pricking-cupping and flash cupping were carried out respectively, the total intervention period was 3 weeks, respectively. Before enrolment and after the intervention,House-Brackmann grading(HBFNGS),facial nerve function scoring criteria and facial disability index(FDI)scores were recorded in the two groups, and the scoring data were statistically processed to analyze the effects of intervention measures on the efficacy, facial nerve function, physical function and social psychology in the two groups.Results:1.There was no significant difference between the two groups in age, gender, site of facial paralysis, course of disease and severity of disease(P > 0.05),indicating comparability.2.The HBFNGS scores of the acupuncture + rolling needle pricking-cupping group and the acupuncture + flash cupping group before treatment were compared, and the difference was not statistically significant(P=0.160 > 0.05),indicating that the two groups were comparable.HBFNGS scores were compared between the two groups before and after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.001).Facial nerve symptoms could be improved in both groups.HBFNGS scores after treatment were compared, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.001).The efficacy of rolling needle pricking-cupping was better than that of flash cupping.3.After treatment,7 patients(21.9%)were cured,6 patients(18.8%)had obvious effect,12 patients(37.5%)had effective effect and 7 patients(21.9%)had no effect in the acupuncture + rolling needle pricking-cupping group, and the total effective rate was78.1%.In the acupuncture + flash cupping group,2 patients(6.3%)were cured,7patients(21.9%)showed obvious effect,6 patients(18.8%)showed effective effect,17patients(53.1%)showed ineffective effect, and the total effective rate was 46.8%.There was statistical difference in the data(P =0.029 < 0.05).4.There was no statistical significance in neurological function scores between the acupuncture + rolling needle pricking-cupping group and the acupuncture + flash cupping group before treatment(P = 0.953> 0.05),which showed comparability. After treatment, compared with before treatment, facial nerve function was improved in both groups, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.001).After the comparison of neurological function scores between the two groups, the improvement of scores in the acupuncture + rolling needle pricking-cupping group was better than that in the acupuncture + flash cupping group, and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.001 < 0.05).5.Comparison of the FDIP scores of the two groups before treatment showed no statistically significant difference(P = 0.251> 0.05).After treatment, the FDIP scores of the two groups were improved(P < 0.001),while the comparison of the two groups after treatment showed statistically significant difference(P=0.04 < 0.05).Acupuncture+rolling needle pricking-cupping group and acupuncture + flash cupping group significantly improved the quality of daily life of patients.6.Comparison of FDIS scores in the pre-treatment group showed no statistically significant difference(P = 0.082> 0.05).After the treatment, the FDIS scores in the two groups decreased with statistically significant difference(P < 0.001).The psychological and social effects of facial paralysis in the two groups were weakened after the treatment of acupuncture + rolling needle pricking-cupping and acupuncture + flash cupping. Conclusion:Based on acupuncture therapy, cooperate with rolling needle pricking-cupping to treat qi deficiency type idiopathic facial palsy curative effect is good, restore facial nerve function, improve the quality of daily life and reduce the condition of patients is superior to the effect of social psychological use flash cupping treatment, low incidence of adverse events, and this study is easy to operate, worth clinical promotion. |
