Objective:The main purpose of this trial is to verify the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with Plus-flavored Siwu Tang in the treatment of postpartum(blood deficiency and fluid deficiency)constipation in women,to objectively evaluate the clinical safety and efficacy of acupuncture combined with Plus-flavored Siwu Tang in the treatment of postpartum constipation, and to preliminarily explore whether this treatment method can provide a feasibility for the future clinical treatment of postpartum constipation.Methods:Seventy-two patients with PC who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups: 36 patients in the treatment group(acupuncture combined with Plus-Flavored Four-Item Soup)and 36 patients in the control group(oral Plus-Flavored Four-Item Soup).Patients in the treatment group and the control group were treated with daily care as prescribed by the doctor, including developing bowel habits, eating a reasonable diet, moderately increasing exercise, and maintaining a good mood.Patients in both groups were treated for 4 courses of treatment with 6 days as a cycle and 1 day off per week. The data were recorded in detail, and the results of the study were evaluated after treatment on the stool properties scale, the TCM constipation symptom scale, and the PAC-QOL scale, and the data were analyzed with SPSS21.00 to summarize the differences in the efficacy of the two groups.Results:1.comprehensive analysis: 4 cases were dislodged during this trial for various reasons and were not included in the analysis.Therefore,68 patients were finally enrolled in the trial,34 cases in each group. The total effective rate was 91.18% in the treatment group;82.35% in the control group, with significant differences(P < 0.05);2.Analysis of the total TCM symptom score: the treatment group was more effective than the control group in improving the total TCM symptom score(P < 0.05);3.Analysis of the individual points of TCM symptoms: after treatment, the main symptoms and secondary symptoms of the treatment group were better than those before treatment, and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05);after comparison between the two groups, the symptoms of frequency of defecation, effort of defecation, incomplete falling, clear and long urine, coldness, cold extremities, fecal characteristics, abdominal pain and bloating, feeling of emptying, loss of appetite, and time per squatting were effectively improved, and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05).There was a significant difference between them(P < 0.05);however,there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in dizziness and less abdominal cold pain(P > 0.05);4.Comparative analysis of PAC-QOL: there was a significant difference between the two groups in QOL after treatment(P < 0.05);5.Analysis of follow-up results: the recurrence rate in the treatment group was 14.71%;the recurrence rate in the control group was 38.23%;the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.The combination of acupuncture and Plus-Flavored Four-Item Soup can significantly improve the symptoms of postpartum(blood deficiency and fluid deficiency type)constipation in terms of frequency of defecation, degree of straining to defecate, incomplete falling, clear and long urine, cold fear and cold extremities, stool properties, abdominal pain and bloating, defecation and emptying sensation, loss of appetite, and time per squatting, and the effect is better than that of oral Plus-Flavored Four-Item Soup in the control group.2.The efficacy of the two methods was comparable in the treatment of cold pain in the lesser abdomen and dizziness.3.The effect of acupuncture combined with Plus-flavored Four Herbs Tang was better than that of Plus-flavored Four Herbs Tang in improving the overall symptoms and total effective rate of postpartum(blood deficiency and fluid deficiency type)constipation patients.4.After treatment, the first defecation time of patients in the treatment group was earlier than that of the control group, the recurrence rate was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the long-term efficacy was better than that of the control group, which is worth promoting the use in clinical applications.
