| ObjectiveFunctional constipation is a common and frequently-occurring disease,Although the curative effect of western medicine is quick,it is easy to relapse and can not guarantee the long-term effect,and long-term taking drugs also can add side effect or produce drug dependence,and even aggravate constipation symptom.After long-term clinical practice,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)has accumulated rich experience in treating chronic constipation,and achieved good clinical effect,and less adverse reaction,but there are also some problems:on the one hand,the long-term use of traditional Chinese medicine not only brings the patient the trouble of frying and boiling,but also the taste of traditional Chinese medicine is more bitter,and it is more likely to cause the patient to comply with the poor compliance.;on the other hand,the constipation symptoms are easy to repeat after taking traditional Chinese medicine.In order to explore a way to effectively improve the symptoms of constipation,and to improve the quality of life of patients with constipation.The ointment not only has the characteristics of easy to carry,lasting taste better,efficacy,but also has the effect of overall regulating the viscera functions?correction of disease?Searching for the Primary Cause of Disease and so on,and to ensure compliance in patients.The study is based on a randomized controlled trials,to apply the tutor,s Runchangtongbian Ointment in treating bowel dryness and fluid deficiency type functional constipation patients,by observing the ointment in improving the symptoms of constipation and the quality of life in patients with constipation,researching and exploring the clinical curative effect of the ointment in patients with function constipation.MethodsAccording to inclusion and exclusion criteria to select 74 cases of patients with functional constipation,and the types differentiation of TCM belongs to bowel dryness and fluid deficiency type.In the experimental,trial group in 1 case(1 case because of lost to follow-up and be stopped to observe),control group in 3 cases(including 2 cases because of the observation period took other laxative medicine and were stoped to observe,1 case of abdominal distension and abdominal pain after taking medicine and be stopped taking),the actual collection effective cases 70 cases,trial group was 35 cases,control group was 35 cases.The trial group were given Runchangtongbian Ointment,the control group were given Maren Soft Capsule.The overall clinical effects of the two groups were observed after intervened 8 weeks and after withdrawal 12 weeks,including scores of constipation symptoms?quality of life and safety evaluation,etc.Results1.TCM symptoms,effectiveness : The total effectiveness of the trial group was 91.4%;The control group was 74.3% after 8 weeks,and two groups were statistically different(P<0.05),and the clinical efficacy of the trial group was better than the control group.2.Constipation symptoms,total score: after intervened 8 weeks the total score of constipation symptoms in the trial group was decreased more obviouly(P<0.05)than that of the control group,it showed that the trial group was superior than control group;after withdrawal 12 weeks the total score of constipation symptoms in the trial group was decreased more obviouly(P<0.05)than that of the control group,it showed that The long-term efficacy of the trial group was better than that of the control group After discontinuation.3.Constipation single symptom,s score: The comparison between two groups after intervened 8 weeks,trial group in symptoms of stool property?difficult defecation?languished and dry mouth were all improved better than control group,and compared the difference value of the above symptoms of two groups,the trial group was better than that of the control group,but the symptoms of interval time of defecation?abdominal distention and abdominal pain?diet reduction were not obvious difference between two groups.The comparison between two groups after withdrawal 12 weeks,trial group in symptoms of stool property?interval time of defecation?abdominal distention and abdominal pain and languished were all decreased more significantly than control group(P<0.05),and it meant that the long-term efficacy of trial group was better than that of control group,and compared the difference value of the above symptoms of two groups,the long-term improvement of the trial group was better than that of the control group,but the symptoms of difficult defecation?diet reduction and dry mouth were improved not obviously between two groups(P>0.05).4.Constipation patients quality of life scores(PAC-QOL):The comparison between two groups after intervened 8 weeks,trial group in 3 aspects of body discomfort?fear and anxiety and satisfaction were all improved better than control group(P<0.05),and compared the difference value of the above aspects of two groups,the trial group was better than that of the control group,but psycho-social discomfort was improved not obviously between two groups(P>0.05).After withdrawal 12 weeks,trial group in 3 aspects of body discomfort?fear and anxiety and satisfaction were all decreased more significantly than control group(P<0.05),and it meant that the long-term efficacy of the trial group was better than that of the control group,and compared the difference value of the above aspects of two groups,the long-term improvement of the trial group was better than that of the control group,but psycho-social discomfort was improved not obviously between two groups(P>0.05).5.The safety?lost return visit situation of this study:two groups of patients had no adverse bad reactions during the study,The two groups of patients had no abnormal blood analysis and the function of liver and kidney before and after the treatment.One case was lost in the trial group,one case was stopped and two were stopped for taking other laxative drugs in the control group.ConclusionThe results of the study showed that The clinical curative effect of Runchangtongbian Ointment in treating Functional Constipation patients with bowel dryness and fluid deficiency type was better than that of Maren Soft Capsule,and improve the quality of life of patients.After intervened 8 weeks trial group can improve the overall effect of constipation,especially in symptoms of stool property?difficult defecation?languished and dry mouth were all improved better than control group;on PAC-QOL scores trial group in 3 aspects of body discomfort?fear and anxiety and satisfaction were all improved better than control group.After withdrawal 12 weeks,long-term efficacy of trial group in symptoms of stool property ? interval time of defecation?abdominal distention and abdominal pain and languished was better than that of control group;long-term efficacy of trial group in the 3 aspects of body discomfort?fear and anxiety and satisfaction was better than that of control group.For the treatment of functional constipation,the ointment is a good control method.Functional constipation is an easy to relapse,and need long-term adjustment chronic disease,so we should play the characteristics and advantages of the ointment,and fully tap the potential of the ointment.The ointment has the whole regulation,convenient to carry?taste good?lasting effect and so on,it also can treat diseases?prevent disease?improve health and longevity and so on.The study has some deficiencies as follows,small the sample size,short observing course of treatment,and short long-term follow-up assessment time. |
