ObjectiveIn this study,to explore and contrast the clinical effects of "facial Fu’s acupuncture" and "routine acupuncture" in the treatment of primary hemifacial spasm(Yin deficiency and wind movement syndrome),this study initiatory explores the advantages of "facial Fu’s acupuncture" in the treatment of primary hemifacial spasm,in order to provide a more effective, concise and quick clinical treatment method for primary hemifacial spasm.Methods72 patients who came to join this study were randomly divided into two groups. Two groups about facial Fu’s acupuncture group and control group,in each group has 36 patients. The facial Fu’s acupuncture group took "facial Fu’s acupuncture" as the program, while the control group took "routine acupuncture" as the program. Both groups were treated 3 times a week, once every other day,the first course was 6 weeks, and the total treatment was 6 weeks. Before and after treatment to compared Cohen intensity grading,Penn frequency grading, and Facial disability index(FDI)scores. Then the overall clinical efficacy and the discrepancy in efficacy between the two groups were evaluated.Results(1)Comparison of baseline results(between groups): Before treatment there was no significant variation in the general data and indicators among the two groups(P>0.05).(2)Comparison of Cohen intensity grading:(between groups)after the treat ment the discrepancy among the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05);Before and after treatment, both the two groups had discrepancy statistically signif icant(P<0.01).(3)Comparison of Penn frequency grading:(between groups)after the treatment the discrepancy among the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05);Before and after treatment, among the two groups was significant discrepancy(P<0.05).(4)FDI score comparison: there was no significant discrepancy in FDI physical function score among the two groups after treatment(P>0.05),but there was significant discrepancy in FDI social function score among the two groups after treatment(P<0.01).After the treatment, two groups’ FDI physical function score were higher than the before(P>0.05).After the treatment, two groups’ FDI social function score were obviously less than that before treatment(P<0.01).(5)Comparison of overall efficacy: After one course of treatment, the overall response rate of the facial Fu’s acupuncture group was 88.24%,and the overall response rate of the control group was 78.79%.Compare the two groups’ the whole medical effects, the discrepancy was statistically significant(P=0.034 < 0.05).Conclusion(1)Both acupuncture regimens can effectively improve the spasm intensity, spasm frequency and facial disability index in patients with primary HFS of Yin deficiency and wind movement syndrome, but the facial Fu’s acupuncture group’s cure rate and total effective rate was significantly higher than the control group.(2)In improving the symptoms and FDI social function of primary HFS pa tients with Yin deficiency and wind movement syndrome, the facial Fu’s acupunct ure group had an advantage over the control group.Among the two groups there were no significant discrepancy about to improve FDI physical function.(3)Both groups had good safety.(4)Facial Fu’s acupuncture has the characteristics of simple operation, superior effect and quick, and has certain clinical application value.
