Objective:The efficacy of two different methods of hanging acupuncture and intradermal needle in the treatment of primary hemifacial spasm was compared and observed, and selecting a better and more effective method of treating primary hemifacial spasm. Methods:Sixty patients diagnosed primary hemifacial spasm were stochastically divided into a hanging acupuncture group and a intradermal needle group, each group of thrity. Both groups requested patients to accept body acupunture cervical j iaj i.The hanging acupuncture group was treated with hanging needle moxibustion at facial point, and the intradermal needle group was treated with intradermal needle at facial point. Both groups of patients received 12 treatments, each treating 1 course. The two groups of indicators before and after treatment(total TCM symptom score,Cohen intensity rating scale,Penn frequency rating scale,HFS-8)were compared, and the data were statistically analyzed to evaluate the clinical efficacy. Results:Comparison of TCM symptoms scores:Compared before and after treatment between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).After treatment, the two groups were compared, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).1.Comparison of Cohen intensity rating scale:the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01)when comparing the Cohen intensity rating scale between the two groups before and after treatment, and significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).2.Comparison of Penn frequency rating scale:There was statistically significant difference in Penn frequency rating scale between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.01),and there was significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).3.Comparison of HFS-8:the difference between the two groups before and after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.01),and the difference was not difference on statistics between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).4.Comparison of clinical efficacy:the total effective rate of treatment in the hanging acupuncture group was 93.33%,and the total effective rate of treatment in the intradermal needle group was 76.67%,and the difference was not significant(P>0.05).The efficacy of the two groups was compared, and the difference was significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both hanging acupunture and intradermal needle can effectively improve the sympton of primary hemifacial spasm;both therapies can reduce the total score of TCM symptoms,Cohen intensity rating scale,Penn frequency rating scale and the HFS-8 score;among them, hanging acupuncture is better than intradermal needle in reducing Cohen intensity rating scale,Penn frequncy rating scale and improving clinical efficacy;there is no difference between the two groups in improving the total score of TCM symptoms, reducing the HFS-8 score, and the efficiency of treatment.
