Eye Health Survey Of Chengdu Residents

Background and Purpose : This topic evaluated the overall condition and development of eye health of Chengdu residents through the investigation of eye health of Chengdu residents.The prevalence rate and influencing factors of vision impairment in daily life and optimal correction were analyzed in different groups such as age,gender,urban and rural areas,education level,etc.To understand the prevalence rate of various causes of visual impairment,disease composition ratio,and to evaluate the influencing factors of visual impairment.To provide the basis for Chengdu Municipal government,civil affairs,medical and health departments to formulate corresponding policies.Object:The study design is based on the whole random sampling survey of natural population.The on-site investigation was made up of ophthalmic medical staff of Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital and community volunteers.From August 2021 to March2022,we conducted an epidemiological survey of eye health among three major groups of patients aged 20-39 years,40-59 years,and over 60 years in different areas of Chengdu.All participants filled out questionnaires about their basic information and underwent corresponding ophthalmic professional examinations,including: Optometry,daily life vision,best corrected vision(BCVA),sreclamp examination,intraocular pressure examination,fundus photography,etc.,to obtain daily life vision and best corrected vision,according to the results of the assessment of eye health and determine the cause of visual impairment.spss statistical software was used for data processing and analysis of all inspection results and basic information,and F-test,Chi-square test,multi-factor logistics regression analysis and other methods were used for statistical analysis.Result:According to the vision disability standard of the World Health Organization,visual acuity < 0.3 is regarded as low vision and visual impairment,and visual acuity <0.05 is regarded as blind.Among 3313 subjects in Chengdu,the rate of visual impairment in daily life was 19.20%,the rate of best corrected visual impairment was 2.96%,and the rate of blindness was 0.54%.With the increase of age,the prevalence of visual impairment increased.The top two causes of visual impairment in the population are cataract and fundus disease.Different age,education level,urban and rural areas,income level,occupation and other categories of people have differences in visual acuity,and have statistical significance.Discuss:Eye health is an important component of national health and an important public health problem.At present,the overall rate of visual impairment in Chengdu is relatively high,especially in the daily life vision of young people.According to the best corrected vision caused by the causes of visual impairment mainly cataract,fundus disease,amblyopia,eye trauma,ametropia and so on.The government and health institutions should pay more attention to the eye health of low-income elderly people in rural areas,pay attention to the eyesight of such people,and carry out the work of preventing blindness.
