Objective: The purpose of this study is to develop a clinical learning environment assessment scale for Operating Room nursing students with good reliability and validity in line with the actual clinical situation,so as to provide an evaluation tool for evaluating the clinical learning environment of Operating Room nursing students.Methods: In this study,quantitative and qualitative research methods were used to develop the clinical learning environment evaluation scale for Operating Room nursing students and to test its reliability and validity.On the basis of literature review,semi-structured interviews were conducted with nursing interns and clinical teachers of operating room nursing in a third-class A hospital in Liaoning Province.The item pool of the scale was confirmed according to the interview results,and the questionnaire to be addressed was formed.Seventeen nursing experts were invited to evaluate the contents of the scale.After two rounds of expert consultation,the initial scale for evaluating the clinical learning environment of nursing students in the operating room was formed.A total of 227 operating room nursing interns were selected by convenience sampling and investigated by questionnaire.The reliability of the scale was tested by internal consistency test,split-half reliability and test-retest reliability;Content validity and construct validity were used to test the validity of the scale.The clinical learning environment assessment scale for operating Room nursing students was finally formed.Results: 1.Based on the results of literature research and qualitative interviews,this study formed a 5-dimension and 41-item inquiry scale.Seventeen experts were selected for two rounds of expert consultation.The recovery rate of valid questionnaires was 100%;The authority coefficients of the two rounds of experts were 0.92 and 0.93;The results of Kendall’s W showed that the experts’ opinions were consistent(p < 0.001),and a 5-dimension 36-item pre-test scale was formed.2.A total of 227 questionnaires were distributed to nursing interns in operating room,and 223 valid questionnaires were obtained,with an effective recovery rate of 98%.(1)Item analysis: The results of correlation coefficient,critical ratio and homogeneity test showed that the items of the scale were of high quality,and all items were retained.(2)Reliability analysis: the Cronbach’s α coefficient of each dimension was between0.948 and 0.967,and the total Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.984.The split-half reliability of each dimension ranged from 0.882 to 0.951,and the total split-half reliability was 0.937.The test-retest reliability of each dimension ranged from 0.762 to 0.782,and the test-retest reliability of the total scale was 0.788.(3)Validity analysis: The content validity of each item was 0.90 ~ 1.00,and the total content validity of the scale was 0.96.The results of the first exploratory factor analysis showed that the loading values of items 14,15,16 and 17 on the two common factors were close to and greater than 0.4.After deletion,the second exploratory factor analysis was conducted,and a total of 4 common factors were extracted,which could explain 78.508% of the total variation.The loading values of each item on the corresponding common factors were all greater than 0.4.Conclusion: 1.In strict accordance with the principles of scale development,this study developed a clinical learning environment evaluation scale for operating Room nursing students.It contains 4 dimensions and 32 items,including work environment(7 items),interpersonal relationship(6 items),task orientation(8 items),practice and evaluation(11 items),the clinical learning environment of nursing students in operating room was comprehensively evaluated.2.The scale developed in this study has reliable reliability and validity.The scale can be applied to investigate the evaluation of nursing students on the clinical learning environment of operating room and improve the clinical nursing teaching in operating room.
