ObjectiveThe purpose of this research is to draw up a Chinese scale of the Clinical Learning Environment for nursing, and we will further confirm the feasibility of the confirmatory scale in practical use by exploring its reliability and validity.MethodsBased on the knowledge and studies of the clinical learning environment, the original inventory was established by focus group discussion ( FGD) with students, as well as reviewing the related literature ( especially referring to some foreign inventories). After an evaluation of five authorities in the field, the scale was revised and used in preliminary testing. Analysis of the testing was used to choose and revise the inventory. The final inventory contained 42 items; these i-tems according to similar qualities were classified into 6 dimensions: interpersonal relationship, working atmosphere and group culture, student involvement, task orientation, innovation, and personalization. Each dimension composed of 7 items. The subjects were 247 BSNs ( Bachelor science in nursing) all in the final clinical probation phase from seven medical colleges in china. All quantitative data of the questionnaire survey was analyzed by SPSS (11.5) for testing the reliability and validity of the scale. The statistical analysis methods included the internal consistency, the test - retest reliability, correlation analysis, and factor analysis, et al.
