Objective:To understand the status quo and influencing factors of health literacy among the elderly people of Zhuang and Yao nationality in Nandan County,so as to provide reference for formulating targeted strategies to improve health literacy. Methods: A multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method was used to investigate the health literacy of the elderly in Nandan County,Guangxi province, among 421 elderly people aged≥60 years old.EXCEL database was established, data analysis was performed using SPSS26.0 statistical software, counting data were represented by frequency and component ratio(%),measurement data followed normal distribution and were described by mean ± standard deviation ((?)±s).Comparison between two groups was performed by independent sample t test, and comparison among multiple samples was performed by analysis of variance(F test). The SNK-q test was used for pairwise comparison of statistically significant variables in ANOVA,and multiple linear regression analysis(full model)was used for multivariate analysis.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:(1)The overall health literacy level of rural Zhuang and Yao elderly people in Nandan County was 18.1%,and the literacy levels of basic health knowledge and concept, healthy lifestyle and behavior, and basic skills were 45.8%,21.4% and 10.0%,respectively.The average scores of basic health knowledge and concept literacy, healthy lifestyle and behavior literacy, basic skills literacy and overall health literacy were(18.09±2.75)points,(11.10 ± 1.95)points,(6.64 ± 1.29)points and(35.82 ± 5.41)points,respectively.(2)Univariate analysis showed that age, nationality, marital status, number of children, education level and monthly family income were all factors that affected the scores of health literacy and overall health literacy of rural Zhuang and Yao elderly people in Nandan county, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The score of 60~64 years old was higher than that of other ages(P<0.001);The score of Zhuang nationality was higher than Yao nationality(P<0.05).Married people scored higher than widowed people(P<0.001);The score of junior high school education or above was higher than that of illiteracy(P<0.001);The number of children 1 was higher than the number of children 5(P<0.001);The score of a family with a monthly income of less than 1000 yuan was lower than or equal to 1000 yuan(P<0.001).(3)The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the education level and the number of children were the main factors affecting the health literacy scores of rural Zhuang and Yao elderly people in Nandan county, and the education level was the favorable factor for the health literacy scores of rural Zhuang and Yao elderly people. The higher the education level, the higher the health literacy scores(unstandardized coefficientβ>0,P<0.05).The number of children was a negative factor for health literacy score, and the more children, the lower the health literacy score(unstandardized coefficient β<0,P<0.05).Conclusion:The overall health literacy level of rural Zhuang and Yao elderly people in Nandan county is low.The education level and the number of children are the key factors affecting the scores of health literacy of rural Zhuang and Yao elderly people in Nandan County.Attention should be paid to the health literacy status of rural Zhuang and Yao elderly people in Nandan County who have a low education level and a large number of children in their families,so as to grasp the weak links.Improve the self-health management ability of local Zhuang and Yao elderly people in rural areas. We grass-roots general practitioners should vigorously promote health science popularization, carry out targeted health education and health promotion in rich and diverse ways, improve the overall health literacy level of the rural elderly and improve their quality of life.
