Investigation On Health Literacy Of Different Occupational Groups In Hebei Province

Objective: In this paper,we analyzed the relevant data of health literacy monitoring of occupational groups in hebei province in 2016 to evaluate health literacy(HL)status of occupational population in Hebei province,discussed its influencing factors,and provided basis for the formulation or adjustment of relevant policies by the government and the public health administration.Methods:1 Being selected by simple random sampling,3507 employees in 13 companies wthin Hebei Province were investigated by questionnaire.2 The survey adopted an unified questionnaire and investigators were trained by unified standards.The questionnaire was collected on the spot and inspectted strictly to controlthe quality of questionnaires.3 All data was entried twice by Epidata 3.1and statistics analyzed by SPSS21.0software.Dataanalysis methods were descriptive analysis,single factor chi-square test,the multi-factor logistic regression analysis.Results:1.The survey was conducted with 3507 questionnaires,3431 valid questionnaires were analyzed,and the valid rate was about 97.83%.Among them,there were a total of 2629 men accounting for 76.62% and 802 women accounting for 23.38%.The youngest is 18 years old and the oldest is 65 years old.2.The overall level of HL was 32.24%.3.Health literacy level(HLL)of three aspects are: basic knowledge and concepts 52.03%,healthy life-style and behavior 26.00%,and health related skills 40.25%,the HL rate of six health issues as scientific view of health,prevention of communicable diseases,prevention of chronic diseases,safety and first aid,basic medical care and health information are 61.59%,28.62%,21.95%,75.20%,32.99% and 49.17% respectively.4.Among the three dimensions of health literacy,the level of healthy lifestyle and behaviora literacy is the lowest.It's difficult to transfer health knowledge into action.Among the six types of health problems,the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases and the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases are relatively lower than others.5.Age,degree of culture,industry type and gender have different degrees of influence on different dimensions of occupational health literacy.Conclusions:1.The overall level of health literacy of the professional population in Hebei province was 32.24% in 2016,and higher than that of the national professional population(31.66%).2.The main influencing factors of health literacy of professional population in Hebei province are age,culture degree,industry type and gender.3.Among the three dimensions of health literacy,the level of healthy lifestyle and behavioral literacy is the lowest,and the emphasis should be placed on the transformation of basic knowledge to healthy lifestyle and behavior.4.Among the six types of health problems,the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases and the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases are relatively lower than others.5.T Low degree of professional people,the elderly and the low degree of 06(coal mining and washing industry),and 08(black metal mining industry),38(electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing)and 55(water transportation)will be focus of intervention in the future.
