Study On The Influence Of Community Medical And Nursing Services On The Quality Of Elderly Care For The Empty-nesters In Urban Areas

Under the "silver wave",meeting the needs of hundreds of millions of empty nesters for "medical and basic care for the elderly",and enabling the urban empty nesters to enjoy a high-quality retirement life are really challenging in the process of coping with the population aging.It is an important goal to promote the high-quality development of elderly care services.As a special group,urban empty nesters are faced with problems such as lack of family support and insufficient supply of social elderly services.Integrated elderly care and medical services in community play an important role in relieving the pressure of aging and meeting the medical and health care needs of urban empty nesters.Therefore,there is a need to support and improve the integrated elderly care and medical services in community,aiming at enabling the urban empty-nest elderly to enjoy a high quality retirement life in their later years.This paper is based on family life cycle theory,ERG theory,and welfare pluralism theory,using the statistical data of the China Health and Aging Tracking Survey 2018 to conduct theoretical analysis and put forward corresponding hypotheses,using a multivariate ordered logistic model to deeply analyze integrated elderly care and medical services in community from three levels: personal health,family support,and social participation.The study conducted robustness and heterogeneity analyses and tested the impact mechanism.The study found that: the integrated elderly care and medical services in community have a significant impact on the quality improvement of elderly people’s retirement life,and the integrated elderly care and medical services in community significantly improved the physical and personal health of urban empty nesters,increased the frequency of children’s care and spiritual support for urban empty nesters and increased the social participation of urban empty nesters.In terms of sub-sample,the effect of integrated elderly care and medical services in community on improving the quality of urban empty nesters aged 60-75 was significantly higher than that of those aged75 and above;the effect of improving the quality of urban empty nesters with fewer children was significantly higher than that of those with more children.The mechanism test found that there were significant differences in the degree of impact of different programs of integrated elderly care and medical services in community on the elderly urban empty nesters’ retirement quality.Based on the above empirical results,policy recommendations are proposed to optimize the top-level government design,enrich integrated elderly care and medical services in community,and widen the participation of social forces,in order to help improve the integrated elderly care and medical services in community,and thus improve the quality of urban empty nesters.Focusing on the urban empty nesters,a special group,we conducted an empirical test based on the theoretical analysis of the impact of integrated elderly care and medical services in community on their quality of later life.It has great reference significance for enriching the research on integrated elderly care and medical services in community and the quality of urban empty nesters,and has certain practical value for improving integrated elderly care and medical services in community and enhancing the quality of urban empty nesters.
