Objective: The purpose is to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Fu Zheng Fu Yuan herbal paste in the recovery after laparoscopic radical surgery for colorectal cancer, and to provide a reference method for clinical treatment.]Methods: In this study,100 patients were selected, who were in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery of Ruikang Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine from December 2020 to December 2022 and met the inclusion criteria for proposed laparoscopic radical surgery for colorectal cancer. They were divided into a control group and a treatment group of 50 cases each by generating random numbers in order of admission time.Laparoscopic radical surgery for colorectal cancer performed by the same team of experienced surgeons in both groups. In the control group, based on ERAS,external treatment of traditional Chinese medical(ironing treatment, moxibustion, acupoint application)was started on the first postoperative day until discharge. In the treatment group, based on the control group, began to take orally Fu Zheng Fu Yuan herbal paste 3 days before surgery until the paste1 day before surgery, and the second day after surgery to 1 month again. Both groups were reexamined 3 weeks.Observation indicators include: the time of first postoperative exhaust and defecation, postoperative hospital stay;the number of postoperative complications(poor wound healing, anastomotic leakage, infection, postoperative intestinal obstruction, etc.);the change of TCM syndrome score before and after operation;the nutritional index(Hb,TP,Alb)before,on the 1st day after operation,on the 7th day after operation and on the 3rd week after discharge;the safety indicators(ALT,Cr)and adverse reactions after taking the cream were recorded on the 7th day after operation and 3 weeks after discharge. The data obtained were statistically analyzed by SPSS26.0 software.Results:1.The final number of completed trials in this study was 98 cases,49 cases each in the control and treatment groups, with a completion rate of 98.00%.2.Time of first postoperative exhaustion and defecation: in the treatment group was earlier than that in the control group(P<0.05).3.Postoperative hospitalization time: the treatment group was less than the control group(P<0.05).4.Postoperative complications: the most common postoperative complications were poor incision healing, followed by pulmonary/abdominal infection, anastomotic fistula, intestinal obstruction, celiac leakage, and lower limb venous thrombosis. The total incidence was 22.45% in the control group,and12.24% in the treatment group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).5.The efficacy of Chinese medical evidence: the total effective rate of the control group was 40.82%,the treatment group was 81.63%,and the statistical difference between the two groups was very significant(P<0.01).6.Nutritional indicators: Hb,TP,and Alb were higher in the treatment group than in the control group on postoperative day 7 and 3 weeks after discharge(P<0.05).Hb,TP,and Alb were seen to be higher in the treatment group 3weeks after discharge compared with preoperative and postoperative day 1(P<0.05).TP and Alb were also seen to be higher in the treatment group on postoperative day 7 compared with postoperative day 1(P<0.05).And Hb decreased in the control group on postoperative day 7 compared with preoperative and postoperative day 1(P<0.05),TP and Alb increased a little compared with postoperative day 1(P<0.05).Hb,TP and Alb increased in the control group 3 weeks after discharge compared with postoperative day 1,but the increase was greater in the treatment group > control group(P<0.05).7.Safety: There was no significant change in ALT and Cr in both groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).But three patients in the treatment group showed an increase in the number of stools after taking orally the herbal paste. Conclusions: Application of Fu Zheng Fu Yuan herbal paste in patients undergoing laparoscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery can shorten the time of first defecation and bowel movement after surgery, reduce the time of postoperative hospitalization, effectively improve the symptoms of Qi and blood deficiency after CRC surgery, enhance the composition of Hb,TP and Alb,strengthen the nutrition of the body, and have no obvious liver and kidney function damage, but the occurrence of increased stool frequency must be noted. In conclusion,it has certain clinical promotion significance.
