Objective:1.To observe and record the improvement of clinical symptoms and signs in patients with Wind-Cold-Damp Frozen Shoulder and to evaluate the efficacy of press needle therapy.2.To explore new methods for the treatment of Wind-Cold-Damp Frozen Shoulder that are safe, reliable, economical and convenient, and to provide new ideas for reducing patients’ pain and improving their living standards. Methods:From September 2021 to December 2022,70 patients were selected according to the inclusion criteria at the Orthopaedic Joint Clinic of the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of TCM,and the patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups according to the random grouping method,35 patients in the control group and 35 patients in the treatment group. In the control group, functional exercises were given together with daily meloxicam 7.5 mg oral treatment, while in the treatment group, press needle was given on the basis of the control group, and press needle was given once every other day, three times a week;both the control group and the treatment group were treated for two weeks. The visual analogue score(VAS),pain grading index score(PRI),shoulder function score(CMS),ultrasensitive and TCM symptom score of the two groups were compared before and after treatment, and the clinical efficacy was finally evaluated. The obtained data were statistically analyzed by applying SPSS 26.0 software, and the corresponding results were obtained.Results:1.Comparison of VAS scores: After treatment, the VAS scores of both groups decreased significantly(P<0.05)compared to before, which was considered statistically significant;the reduction of VAS scores in the treatment group was significant(P<0.05)compared to the control group after treatment, which was statistically significant.2.Comparison of PRI scores: PRI scores in both groups decreased after treatment compared with before(P<0.05),which was statistically significant;the reduction of PRI scores in the treated group was comparable to that in the control group after treatment(P>0.05),which was not statistically significant.3.Comparison of CMS scores: CMS scores in both groups improved after treatment(P<0.05),and the difference was statistically significant;CMS scores in the treated group improved significantly(P<0.05)compared with the control group after treatment, which was statistically significant.4.Chinese medicine symptom scores: After treatment, the Chinese medicine symptom scores of both groups improved compared with the previous ones(P<0.05),with statistically significant differences;after treatment, the Chinese medicine symptom scores of the treatment group decreased significantly compared with the control group(P<0.05),with statistical significance. Conclusion:Press needle therapy for Wind-Cold-Damp Frozen Shoulder can effectively reduce patients’ pain, and improve patients’ shoulder joint mobility, while having good safety, and has the value of being promoted in clinical practice.
