| Introduction:As an important indicator to comprehensively reflect physical health, cardiopulmonary endurance has been widely used in the fields of cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, metabolic diseases, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.Cardiopulmonary exercise testing(CPET)is the gold standard for clinical evaluation of cardiopulmonary endurance. However, the expensive equipment for cardiopulmonary exercise testing, the complex operation, and the difficult data interpretation, and the large China’s population base,so that the development of cardiopulmonary exercise testing started late, and it is difficult to promote it in primary care. The prevalence of hypertension combined with coronary heart disease is high and the control rate is low in China. The assessment of cardiopulmonary fitness is an important part of the comprehensive management of hypertension combined with coronary heart disease. The aim of this study is to explore the correlation between the incremental shuttle walking test distance and the core indexes of cardiopulmonary exercise test in patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease, and to explore an effective method for preliminary evaluation of cardiopulmonary fitness in patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease in primary hospitals.Methods:32 patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease who were treated in the department of General Practice in our hospital from April 2022 to March 2023 were selected.Cardiopulmonary exercise testing(CPET)and two incremental shuttle walking tests(ISWT)were performed respectively. The basic physical information of patients, the results of cardiopulmonary exercise test and the results of incremental shuttle walking test were collected.SPSS 25.0 statistical software was used to analyze the correlation between the incremental shuttle walking test distance(ISWD)and the core indicators of cardiopulmonary exercise testing(CPET).Results:32 patients were enrolled in this study, including 15 males and 17 females. The correlation between incremental shuttle walking distance(ISWD)and core indexes of cardiopulmonary exercise testing(CPET)was analyzed in 32 patients. The correlation between ISWD and peak oxygen uptake(VO2 peak)(r=0.664,p<0.05),anaerobic threshold oxygen consumption(r=0.526,p<0.05),maximal exercise metabolic equivalent(Mets@max)(r=0.637,p<0.05),oxygen pulse index during maximal exercise(r=0.5323,p<0.05)were prominent. After adjusting for gender, age, height and weight the results showed that ISWD(m)was associated with maximal oxygen consumption during cardiopulmonary exercise testing(r=0.659,p<0.05),anaerobic threshold oxygen consumption(r=0.506,p<0.05),maximal exercise metabolic equivalent(r=0.618,p<0.05),oxygen pulse index during maximal exercise(r=0.588,p<0.05),and still had a significant positive correlation. Conclusions:There was a significant positive correlation between the incremental shuttle walking test distance and the core indexes of cardiopulmonary exercise test in patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease. The longer the incremental shuttle walking distance, the better the cardiopulmonary fitness. After adjusting for age, height, weight and age, still had a significant positive correlation. The incremental shuttle walking test can be used as an effective method to evaluate the cardiopulmonary fitness of patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease in primary community hospitals. |
