Objective: To observe the efficacy of oral cetirizine tablets combined with topical 5% minoxidil tincture in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia. Methods: A total of 60 patients with androgenetic alopecia who met the inclusion criteria in the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University from October 2020 to November 2021 were randomly divided into observation group(n=30)and control group(n=30).The general data of patients were collected. The BASP classification method was used to evaluate the hair loss grade of patients and take photos. The control group was treated with 5% minoxidil. The observation group was treated with cetirizine combined with 5% minoxidil. The treatment course of the two groups was12 weeks. The patients were asked to score the hair loss, pruritus and greasy before and after treatment. At the end of the treatment,a dermatologist assessed the efficacy of all patients before and after treatment by a full head photo.Results:1.A total of 67 patients were included in this trial,32 in the observation group and 35 in the control group.1 patient in the observation group could not be followed up on time,1 patient could not be followed up regularly,3 patients in the control group could not be followed up on time, and 2 patients were not followed up on time.Regular medication was excluded, and 60 patients were actually collected.During the treatment,no patients developed dry mouth and eyes, contact dermatitis, liver and kidney function damage,etc.2.Before treatment, there was no statistical difference in age, course of disease, and degree of hair loss between the two groups(P>0.05),and the baseline data were balanced and comparable.3.After the treatment,1 person in the observation group was significantly improved in hair loss,17 people were improved,8 people were controlled, and 4people were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 86.67%;there was no statistical difference in the total effective rate between the observation group and the control group(Z=-1.218,P=0.223).4.There was no statistical difference in the scores of hair loss, greasy and itching between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).Before and after treatment, the scores of hair loss, greasy and itching in the observation group were improved, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before and after treatment, the scores of hair loss in the control group were improved, and the difference was statistically significant(Z=-4.755,P<0.001),but there was no significant difference in the scores of pruritus before and after treatment in the control group(t=-1.439,P>0.05).The greasy score of the control group increased before and after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(t=-2.757,P=0.010).Conclusions: There is no significant difference in the efficacy of oral cetirizine combined with topical 5% minoxidil tincture and topical 5% minoxidil tincture in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia;but the combined treatment regimen can improve the itching in patients with androgenetic alopecia And the greasy feeling is obviously better than 5% minoxidil alone.
