| Background and objectiveAndrogenic alopecia(AGA)is a common hair-related disease and is the most common alopecia in male alopecia, accounting for about 90%.Although AGA does not pose a direct threat to the patient’s health,it usually brings a negative impression on the facial appearance of the patient. At the same time,it creates serious mental and psychological disease on the patient. These negative effects are always subtle in affecting the patient’s learning, working, and living, which is also virtually an indirect harm to physical and mental health. This article will approve the effects of AGA on male’s appearance and physical and mental healthMethods1.The effect of AGA on the facial appearance age, attractiveness and healthWe randomly recruited 30 N-AGA outpatients were 21~30 years old,31~40,41~50 years old,we chose 30 shots of normal facial images as the control group;in order to create the ideal AGA model, with the Photoshop software’s help.,the frontal area of 30 N-AGA facial image were modified into different degrees of AGA,namely light, moderate and severe AGA.And these AGA face image can be used as the experimental group. The facial appearance age and mental face index of the control group and the experimental group were evaluated by the form of network survey. Finally,we compared the statistical results between the control group and the experimental group to explore the effect of AGA on the appearance of the face and the mental appearance of the face.2.The study on the physical and mental health and quality of life(QOL)of AGA patients and the intervention of early treatmentConnell Health Questionnaire(CHQ)and quality of life questionnaire(QLQC30)were used to investigate the physical and mental health and QOL of 50 male patients with severe AGA and 20 normal men.At the same time, early intervention for AGA patients, including drug therapy, combined therapy of finasteride, minoxidil and hair transplant surgery. After 1 years of follow-up,the assessment of the physical and mental health and QOL of the patients with AGA was reassessed.By comparing the assessment results of CMI and QOL scale between AGA patients and normal persons,AGA patients before and after treatment,we can confirm the effect of AGA on physical and mental health and QOL.Results1.The effect of AGA on the facial appearance age, attractiveness and healthCompared with N-AGA images in control group, the appearance age of AGA face in experimental group increased by 4.19 ± 1.27 years, the attractiveness of facial appearance decreased by 29.11 ±6.82,and the appearance of health decreased by 21.57±8.15.With the most obvious AGA face, the appearance age increased 5.90 ± 1 years, the attractiveness decreased by 28.21 ± 8.37,and health decreased by 30.24 ±9.33.In addition, our evaluation results from 30 experimenters also showed that age group had the most obvious influence on the age of facial appearance, the 20-30 year old age group had the most obvious influence, and the least affected by the age of 40-50..In terms of appearance attractiveness and appearance health, the 20-30 year old age group had the most obvious influence, and the least affected by the age of 40-50.2.Study on the physical and mental health and QOL of AGA patients and the intervention of early treatmentBefore treatment,we compared the the Connell Medical Index(Cornell Medical, index,CMI)of AGA patients and the critical CMI value(A-R = 35,M-R = 15),28(56%)AGA patients had mental health disorders and 18(36%)had abnormal psychological status. The physical and mental health and QOL of experimental group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).After 1 years of comprehensive treatment, the alopecia in 50 patients has been improved more or less. The effectiveness of treatment is about 100%.32 patients have been significantly improved, and their physical and mental health and QOL have been improved(P<0.05).ConclusionAGA is not only affecting the appearance of the face, but also can cause mental and physical injury. It should cause early attention and active treatment for AGA patients. Therefore, the early drug operation intervention treatment and psychological guidance are of great significance to the promotion of physical and mental health and the improvement of the quality of life. |
