| Objective:A clinical randomised controlled trial to observe the efficacy of electro-acupuncture trunk muscle treatment on post-stroke balance dysfunction, and to provide a reference and new treatment modality for clinical treatment.Methods:Seventy-two patients eligible for inclusion were randomly assigned to a control group and a treatment group, each with 36 cases. Both groups received symptomatic neurodrug treatment and rehabilitation. The control group was treated with conventional acupuncture, while the treatment group was treated with electro-acupuncture of the trunk muscles on basis of the control group, with acupuncture once a day for 6 consecutive days a week with 1 day off,7 days as a course of treatment,4 courses of treatment in total..The indexes were evaluated before and after treatment. The indexes were Berg Balance Scale(BBS),Postural Assessment Scale for Stroke(PASS)and Modified Barthel Index(MBI).The data before and after treatment were used in SPSS25.0 for statistical analysis, and the curative effects of the two groups were compared.Results:1.Intra-group comparison between the two groups of patients before and after treatment: BBS,PASS and MBI scores increased in both the control and treatment groups after treatment compared to before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P < 0.05).2.Inter-group comparison between the two groups before and after treatment: The differences in BBS,PASS and MBI scores were not statistically significant when compared between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05),BBS,PASS and MBI scores were all higher in the treated group compared to the control group after treatment and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.The efficacy evaluation the two groups was compared: 91.18% in the treatment group and 80.00% in the control group, with significant differences between the two groups(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.Both electro-acupuncture trunk muscle treatment and conventional acupuncture treatment can effectively improve the balance function of patients with post-stroke balance dysfunction.2.Electro-acupuncture of trunk muscle can improve the balance ability and activities of daily living of patients with balance dysfunction after stroke, and the curative effect is better than that of conventional acupuncture. |
