Objective:To observe the effect of electro-acupuncture stimulation for lower extremities motor dysfunction of of stroke patients, with needling into the muscle belly of quadriceps, gastrocnemius and adductor muscles along the inside of thigh. And to discuss about its effects on patients'limb dysmyotonia, athletic abilities and activities of daily life. Methods:Choosing 60 patients who met the inclusion criteria of this clinic observation, and randomly divided into treatment group or control group, each group had 30 cases. Both groups were given conventional acupuncture treatment. On this basis, the treatment group increased electro-acupuncture stimulation of the muscle belly of quadriceps, gastrocnemius and adductor muscles along the inside of thigh. Before and after treatment it adopted MAS to rate the patients'grades of limb dysmyotonia of two groups, using FMA to assess their limb athletic abilities and modified Barthel assessment to show the activities of daily life in this clinic observation.Results:1.Patients of two groups in MAS rating scores had no significantly difference before treatment (P>0.05), while the rating scores of treatment group was lower than the ones of control group.(P<0.05)2. In both groups, patients'FMA scores after treatment were higher than the ones before treatment. There was a significant difference between two groups, with a better result in the treatment group. (P<0.01)3. In both groups, patients'modified Barthel scale scores after treatment were higher than the ones before treatment. There were some differences between two groups, with a better result in the treatment group. (P<0.05)Conclusion:1. Needling the muscle belly of quadriceps, gastrocnemius and adductor muscles along the inside of thigh could inhibit the increasing tension of lower limb muscles, which is better than the control group.2. It has a good effect on lower limb athletic abilities of stroke patients with lower extremities motor dysfunction, by needling the muscle belly of quadriceps, gastrocnemius and adductor muscles along the inside of thigh, which is better than the control group.3. It could enhance activities of daily life of stroke patients with lower extremities motor dysfunction, by needling the muscle belly of quadriceps, gastrocnemius and adductor muscles along the inside of thigh, which is better than the control group.
